Re: The Most Important Moments In A Life BOOK
After some deliberation I've decided to list this for sale on EBay. I brought it from fsoldigital at the time they released the book. They also had some signed test pressings for Environments and one of the Archives series. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/225194096832 If it sells then I plan to put the m...

Re: Albums in order of preference
That said, I think 4 and 5 hold together brilliantly and sit comfortably alongside their best works; 6 is, for me, one of their most consistent albums, mood-wise, but it lacks the big memorable epics a la Eggshell / Dirty Shadows / My Kingdom / Hollow Earth / Factories and Assembly / etc. that just...

Re: Computer Art/Video Synths
In 1973 Steve Rutt, Bill and Louise Etra developed a "scan processor" that was utilised in video productions by Nam June Paik, Steina and Woody Vasulka as well as Gary Hill. 56 With the "Rutt/Etra Scan Processor" signals of a black-and-white monitor can be modified. The signals a...

Computer Art/Video Synths
Not directly FSOL related but may be of interest to some on here. I was browsing through this history of computer based art: http://iasl.uni-muenchen.de/links/GCA-IV.1e.html The first version of the Paik/Abe video synthesizer from 1970 (see chap. IV.1.1 with ann.11) was not a synthesizer. It could b...

Brujo
only vaguely FSOL related, but I was surprised when I read Burroughs' Yage Letters for the first time last week - I didn't realise that Brujo meant witchdoctor/shaman "yage has no power unless the Brujo performs the appropriate ceremonies. He said all this as if repeating a lesson he had learne...

Re: A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble – The Wizards Of Oz
Looks nice in gatefold! Read the review in April's MOJO (4/5), but it doesn't really give much away. A few other good bits in there like the Edgar Froese obituary where they mention that a disgruntled fan at one gig threw a bag of marmalade at his keyboards "rendering them inoperable" - el...

Re: wee Noel in the NME
I think there's a clue on that cover Richey Edwards, Noel Gallagher, PJ Harvey - has music not moved on since 1995? I'm not sure it has for Mr Gallagher (or his fans)
