Re: Albums in order of preference
Good lord, they have so many albums. I'm not anywhere near having heard them all thoroughly. From the ones I have: 1. Dead Cities 2. Lifeforms 3. Environment 5/6/6.5 4. ISDN black 5. ISDN white 6. Accelerator 7. Archives 1-4 8. Archives 5 9. Archives 7 10. Archives 6 11. Archives 8/9, The Isness Def...

Re: What are you listening to?
Arcturus - Kinetic The Sham Mirrors (2002) Recently I saw that movie Interstellar, which I would highly recommend if you can take some important plot elements with a grain of salt, and it has a very decent OST. But I just had to listen to this album again, considering the story somewhat reminds me ...

Re: Dead Cities
I guess I disagree with you in that I think Dead Cities was way more dense. They always seemed to be a loop based band, and the way they layered their loops progressed, and in my opinion, was more creative on Dead Cities. Lifeforms seems more a product of its time, as atmospheric as it is. It just g...

Dead Cities
This is a biased post. And many might disagree. Which is fine! I feel that this album is the pinnacle, the progression, of FSOL. They have maybe felt the need to disown it and make a 'feminine' album like The Isness (which I think is not that great), and that's fine, too. My reaction is that this al...

FSOL mixes
So I'm new here, obviously. One of the things I've noticed about FSOL is that because of their ambient intros and outros, mixes are incredibly easy to make. All the noises that bookend the songs make it simple to blend practically anything you want together. I've made several cds over the years, eve...

Re: FSOL press release
Yes, it gets a (fully deserved) amount of love from fans, it's just the band who have had issues with it. Welcome aboard, by the way! Thanks! And I find that strange, considering that half of Teachings From The Electronic Brain is Dead Cities material. Didn't they select the songs for that compilat...

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Accelerator
I liked the tracks that didn't have a standard dance beat running through them the entire time (Expander, PNG, Central Industrial). To me, the album can be fun, but a lot of it kinda runs together. I haven't given it a listen in a long time though, maybe I should.

It may be a joke article, but I definitely think it is their best album.Ross wrote:Hahah.
(The funniest thing being the idea that Gaz would call Dead Cities their finest work to date)
