Re: Mind Maps 4
Really like MM4 being split out by track so I can check out the original artists, some of them are great on their own! Any idea on the difference between a "Yage Mix" and a "Yage Remix"? Aren't they the same thing? The answer machine messages are better this time around also beca...

Re: A Space of Partial Illumination e7.002 out October 2022
I have the vinyl and the quality is not as good as other FSOL records but I didn't have any skips/defects. Overall I like 7.2 more than Rituals (even though it doesn't have a standout tract like Hopiate). They are both strong albums and agree they are better than 6/6.5. Those have incredible songs o...

Re: A Space of Partial Illumination e7.002 out October 2022
I ordered the vinyl and noticed the exchange rate is way better than normal so I added a couple other albums I have been meaning to get on vinyl.
Will do the usual and wait to listen when I have it in hand and will read everyone's comments in about 3 weeks from now.

Re: Rituals: e7.001 (Environment 7) out April 2022
Finally got to listen to my vinyl copy 75/2000. Love this new album and probably my favorite of all the new material. It could almost be the first big banner FSOL release if it just had a couple more melodic songs and one or two more vocal samples. To me it takes all the best parts of the different ...

Re: Rituals: e7.001 (Environment 7) out April 2022
I went to the record store to support RSD and knew they wouldn't have Rituals but looked anyway! Not sure if any copies go to Texas...at lease my kids found some records they wanted so it was fun. Will order online as usual and avoid reading any spoilers from you guys haha jk. But for real my first ...

Re: RSD 2020 - Cascade 2020, We Persuade Ourselves... MPB Remixes, PNG (Weatherall Remix)
Just got my vinyl copies of Cascade & We Persuade, both numbered in the lower 70's. Surprising it got to Texas in just a week! Let me know if anyone has any questions specific to the vinyl.

Re: RSD 2020 - Cascade 2020, We Persuade Ourselves... MPB Remixes, PNG (Weatherall Remix)
Ordered Cascade and We Persuade Ourselves on vinyl and got the full downloads. Listened to both on the weekend, love Cascade! It will take several listens to absorb, which is the way I like FSOL albums to be. I was worried the AA remix album might taint the full release/track but it lacks the main v...

Re: New FSOL album on Touched 11CD boxset
The various artists compilation with the Apertures track on can be bought as a standalone . The FSOL disc will appear on FSOLDigital in the future. I really like Missing Skies because of the Views/Environmental vibe it has. Plus a great progression as it moves to the last quarter of the song, reall...

Re: The structure of the Environments
I've always thought of it as the 2 minute rule - if a song isn't 2 minutes long then it is either: an intro, outro, or interlude. Anything less needs to be tacked onto another song.
Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit was 2:31 and is the greatest "short" song ever so don't try to beat it!

Re: Albums in order of preference
It is tough for me since each album/sound has a place connected. When I go to East Texas the Amorphous psychedelic sounds suits the piney woods. When I go hunting in the hill country in West Texas I like the Archives, the synths and beats go well with the big skies at night. At home in Houston its m...

Re: Archived : Environmental : Views (RSD release)
So happy they are making this available to us digitally. I'll probably keep my amazon pre-order of the CD... $12.99 isn't much and the subtle nuances in sequencing are always interesting. Now the OCD kicks in... Do I set these files up as one long album or three shorter ones? First off, let...

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
Long time lurker first time poster. Back in college we would download FSOL mixes from an FTP called Disenchanted(?). Not many of us in Texas...but there is a growing psych movement based around Austin Psych Fest (aka Levitation). On a lateral note, I have watched Formula 1 with my Dad since I was a ...

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar
I had the Life Moments book shipped to the US and it was fine, but the calendar would probably get rolled up into a tube? Still on the fence about ordering it.
