Re: You are listening to a test transmission ....

Spoiler - pronounced like 'Spooler'? Ah, OK. I always thought it has something to do with 'spools' like spools of tape or wire or something. Another mystery solved :) Btw, it's heard only on the 'max (original)' track, even on the archived version?

Re: Berzek - the dark legend

Haha looking at these Atari-games I can now understand the glorious reviews that the games on the sinclair zx spectrum received in the eighties, these games must haved seemed like pure digital heaven to those players compared to the old atari ones. I mean like "wow! 8 colors! All at once at the...

Re: You are listening to a test transmission ....

Haha, yeah, did you mean that "Warning! Spooler Technology is in use!" Announcement? Yeah me too would like to know what kind of weird technology that was. Think it was only for the drama of it, adding some Cyberspace-like SciFi-paranoia to the atmosphere of it. Or some early copyprotectio...

Re: What are you listening to?

@Tito: thumbs up for Advisory Circle, the second album "As the Crow flies" is the best Ghost Box release imo. Now listening Autechre - Exai Only halfway through the first disc and I must admit this is just intense. Really didn't expect this. Don't know if it's just a current mood, but I'm ...

Re: Favourite albums

They're driven by a strange desire,
Someone's calling.

That is from "The Carnival is over" by Dead Can Dance, right? Love that song. And the album too.

And not to forget the 'Tales of Ephedrina'-release from their Amorphous Androgynous Alias that I also would count in, it's also from that era and similar stylisticly, but a little more beat-driven at the beginning.

Oh, and welcome on board :)

Re: new boards of canada lp

I predict the majority of disappointed 'boc-fans' with all their complaining about being underwhelmed and how there's lack of melodies will come back in a year or two with ears and minds cleared from those ridiculously grown expectations, and will rediscover and appreciate TH for what it is, just an...

Re: Let's get personal....

Momentarily I´m working as a conductor on a train. (I´m not sure if thats´s the right word in english but my translation program says so. It´s like controlling tickets and stuff, not like conducting an orchestra on a train :D although that may also be an interesting job!) Not my dreamjob anyway but ...

And you can rob banks and be "spiritual" at the same time, can't u?
Haha yeah maybe it's about a spiritual kind of robbing banks. And very meditative car chases :D

Re: Will we hear from the guys this year?

Haha, "psychxploitation", that sounds interesting. Try to say that 10 times as fast as you can without getting a knot in your tongue. Will this be a dj mix or a studio recording kind of sorts? Anyway, I'm curious for that. So all that cosmic spiritual stuff of liberating your mind and soul...

Re: What are you listening to?

'Tomorrows Harvest' over here too. And I just fucking love it. I'm digging every second on it, no fillers on there (though 'jaquardt causeway' seemed a bit odd at first listening) It's just classic boards, with a welcome return to the sound of their earlier work (the first comparison that came to my...

Re: Pande-reviews: 1993.7 (BBC Essential Mix 1, Darshana)

Yeah, nice to have those transmission tracklists. I'm quite amazed how much the guys were influenced by 70ies music even back in 93! So Mr. Pandemonium, keep up the good work! I'm quite curious about the early MPB mixes, would be great to have proper tracklists for them. Guess I have to be patient t...

Re: Ayahuasca

Never tried it, and am not sure if I ever would want to, as it sometimes seems to produce some nasty side effects like heavy vomiting, at least I read this. Sounds a bit scary. But I highly adore the ayahuasca art by Pablo Amaringo, Anderson Debernardi and others, this is the most fantastic psychede...

The High Llamas - Can Cladders

Damn I love this. Sean O Hagan makes the most wonderful String/Brass-Orchestrations since Max Richters work for FSOL/AA.
This is enchanting me completely at the moment. 60ies pop-heaven at its best.
