Re: Papua/Murmurations release for Record Store Day?

I picked up Murmuration Skies. It's nice! If you like Murmurations, you'll like this. It's different enough but still feels like Murmurations. Starts off very minimal and builds to a great percussion section towards the end.

Re: Papua/Murmurations release for Record Store Day?

Resurrecting this old thread :D

I guess a couple of copies got posted and immediately scooped up on Bandcamp. Of note though, there's a new new digital only mix of Murmurations added to the page:

Re: Compilation tracks & Remixography

Whoa! That is very Chems Private Psychedelic Reel sounding. Really like it. Also, is Yage the new Amorphous? Because a few years ago this would have easily been an AA remix. Re: It's been a very long time

Hi Dimitri! Welcome back! I think most of the FSOL techniques are beyond me. I'm not sure what Brian's modes of working are these days. Seems like he's got a pretty custom setup for the studio wizardry.

I'm still around, making music :) :)

Re: Yage Translations

It was very much on the Amorphous end of their sound. Very guitar focused. Only got a chance to listen to bits of it but sound like the 5 tracks were mostly reconstructed from The Lovers, Wooden Ships, Things Change, The Big Blue. I liked that all the tracks mixed into each other too.

And it's gone. My guess it was a teaser or accidentally uploaded as public.

Yage Translations

Thanks for FSOL facebook group for spotting this one! This looks like a 5 track Yage remix/rework EP of PNG Translations! The EP is in that newer Yage style (Pygmy People, Woodlands of Old, etc). It borrows the new elements from Translations. No original PNG samples here. No idea why it got uploaded...

It varies. They usually announce it before the end of Jan.

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

Ah, that is a good question. I really don't have an idea if they would or not. Maybe some of the newer tracks? I know some of the tracks in past calendar albums were recorded years ago and were left off of releases so probably not those.

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

I'm honestly OK if the calendar albums just become oddities and orphan compilations every year. I'm glad that we get to hear these experiments and tracks that wouldn't find a home otherwise. Years End is really fun. It sounds like the whole track was recorded through some sort of amp and microphone ...

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

November track is out! Artwork looks very E5 but it seems to have been recorded around the time of the My Kingdom / Yage / Cascade album releases.

I've loved every single video I've watched so far, but yes, I am also pretty far behind on these :D
