Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

NG is like Salieri in the "Amadeus"-movie from Milos Forman. He is obviously capable of noticing the stellar quality of Gaz'n Brians recordings, but he's also aware of the fact that he will never catch up to their level of genius in this live anymore, so he goes like: "erm, SOME stuff...

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

That's interesting. Would love to know which parts of the album originate from the early nineties. It's really somewhat hard to guess. One thing about the cover, I think it does not quite fit the mood of the album - it looks great but there's is definitely something scary about it, whereas the overa...

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

Oh, I totally forgot about this one. I must also admit that I still haven't booked for those calendar tracks. I think I will get them as a whole when the year is done, hopefully they will be available as a complete package then.

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

Definitely need some further listens, but it really seems like this archived release has no clear reminiscences of any 90ies FSOL-era, unlike the previous ones, where you could tell 'oh this is the Dead Cities-track, that is the early 90ies acid-inspired track... ' ,the whole album instead sounds al...

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

Just listening. Can't believe how good this is. How is it possible they keep on and on and on producing stuff of this stellar quality.

With the bonus tracks this album clocks about 70 minutes! Their fourth album in a row (not counting my kingdom) that's over 60 minutes long.

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

Cool. Wish they would do longform videos again like in the nineties. That piece looks intriguing. Sounds also interesting, very un-retro, rather modern and experimental.

Album already seems to come out here next week according to german amazon site.

Re: Archived 9 - out 5th October, and other upcoming release

Looks like two yetis with E-guitars playing open air.
Maybe it's a rare early picture of yage and cyberface making some action.

Re: What are you listening to?

Just recently I listened to the whole Wonky-album for the first time and was surprised how good it actually is, except for the titletrack and beezledub of course, but the rest seems to me highly enjoyable, a bit very light-hearted at times but much better than I always thought.

Re: What are you listening to?

@autumn of communion - sounds interesting, will have a listen Aphex Twin - Collapse EP Yeah, quite good. 10/10 ;) Thomas Fehlmann - Los Lagos Very very good. A bit more experimental than Honigpumpe & Gute Luft, this makes it a more "interesting" listen than the previous two, with which...

Re: What are you listening to?

Orbital - Monsters Exist Not exactly the return to "Snivilisation"/"In Sides"-era form I hoped it would be, but better than some of the first reviews suggested. There are no total failures like the titletrack and "beezledub" from Wonky, or some stuff from the blue album...

Re: What are you listening to?

Cool. I only saw the video, which is only 3 minutes or so. I must admit, I'm pretty much hyped for this album :)

Also pretty curious about the new Orb. Will definitely give it a listen. Seems it's not that bad at all from what I've read so far.

Re: What are you listening to?

Bicycles was definitely a summer album for me too. I remember the Fehlmann-tracks on that album fitted the summerheat perfectly. Okie Dokie was late summer/early fall 2005, when i had it on heavy rotation along with "Alice in Ultraland" and "Campfire Headphase", which must have c...
