Re: new boards of canada lp

Quite a few listens in and its really starting to grow on me. I think that with the first listen, I was judging it too much on what I expected to hear, given the couple press releases that I had read. The most apparent critique being that it is the darkest thing that they've come out with yet. I'm n...

Re: Ayahuasca

That vomiting sounds pretty intense, and kind of disconcerting to me, though I do hear that users of vomit inducing substances such as aya and peyote are generally psychologically healthier than non-users.

Kinesthesia - Empathy Box

I discovered this album some time last year while I was getting in touch with some of the ambient album greats of the early 90's and immediately took a fancy to it. However, I was quite surprised that I hadn't discovered it sooner (though I had heard of Cylob/Kinesthesia long before). Do most of you...

Re: From the Archives 7 out November 19th

I'm guessing most of you have already noticed this by now, but as stated on their website, all orders of From The Archives Vol. 7 purchased through FSOLdigital will also receive an exclusive download of two further tracks; “Hydro Medusa” and “Abandoned Housing Blocks of Prypiat." I guess they g...

Re: Voyager: Sounds of the Cosmos

Woah, I've only heard Closest Approach To Jupiter and am very intrigued in hearing the rest - It sounds like something by Thomas Koner. Are these really amplified radio wave emissions with no further tweaking, if so then colour me impressed ! Unless there's some pretty consistent misleading going o...

Voyager: Sounds of the Cosmos

Hey, guys! First of all, let me just say it's nice to see everything up and running again. And now for the real reason for this thread. https://sites.google.com/site/soundsofthecosmosofficial/home Admittedly this isn't exactly music, but it's presented as such, and if you ask me, could easily be mis...

Re: Teachings from the Electronic Brain on Amazon

I'm definitely one of those people who has a much more positive image of Teachings as it pretty much was my introduction to FSOL. I'd come across their name numerous times before and had obviously heard We Have Explosive and one or two of their other tracks, so I decided to pick up Teachings when I ...

Re: Teachings from the Electronic Brain on Amazon

The most common difference for those labeled as 2006 edits is that they are cut differently from the originals, often fading in or out at different points. This is most noticeable on the tracks Antique Toy, Glass, and Yage, which each have roughly a minute cut from their ends, and Everyone in the Wo...

Those two tracks used to be included in the digital version of Vol. 3, but were dropped with the physical release.

Re: FSOL remix or original?

By the way Ross, I was rather curious about this Kiss FM show from '94. Seems like a pretty rare, almost non-existent bootleg. Anything outside the obvious that you can tell us? Is it any good? :)

Re: FSOL remix or original?

Unfortunately yes, along with the Electric Brain Storms (excluding Vol. 7) and the Radio 1 Essential Mixes.
