Re: Mixing/Mastering

what do you mean by this - "if you don't want to adjust faders, then try a gain plug in to alter the level. In future I would suggest not applying fades until the mix process." do i need to alter the level? after enough digging i've found some people in this world that "mix as they g...

Re: Mixing/Mastering

In electronic music compression is not as necessary as it is with live stuff which is usually more dynamic. But it can still help a synth line cut through, especially when filter changes result in jumps in sound, or you want to bring a sound to the fore. It is easy to get wrong so always A/b and mak...

Re: Dead Cities

I think ISDN is my favourite, but I love Dead Cities equally. Lifeforms has great stuff but none of it lasts long enough (except a few tracks). I wish they had made a full Double CD; 160 minutes, not 90.

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Accelerator

I came to FSOL via Cascade, then PNG, then Accelerator. I have always loved Calcium and It's not my Problem. The album isn't great, but I still enjoy it every now and then.

Nice. I can lust after the Synthi, but I have a pretty healthy set up myself, so I'm not that jealous. ;)

Where's the OSCar?

Re: African Music

Delete the first post and let's talk about some music from the continent of Africa ;)

CK Mann from Ghana

I have this on a CD but the mix is slightly different, it being in mono and a bit fatter for it, still, a wicked beat.

Re: New Vausz music

Cheers. It was done as a side project to take my mind off some hip hop I worked on, so it wasn't as focussed as it would be normally but it turned out really well I think.

Maybe I'll do an ambient re-edit ;)

New Vausz music

This is two tracks of about 15 minutes each, made some time ago, but never released to the public before. It is more like 10 or 12 little tracks, but they were made as two parts and have become one.

Re: what is your favorite FSOL/AA track of all time?

Having got it recently, I can listen to "Deep into your subconscious I slide" on repeat, but that is probably because it is a track I only got to experience through the Lifeforms video previously. Cascade is still an important track for me (all of it that is) and in a similar vein to the a...

Just a couple but there are many more - Autechre - Incunabula and Amber, both amazing albums.
