Re: Mind Maps 3

Some people just prefer to have all the tracks easily accessible or know what they're listening to at the exact moment. It's probably the sort of thing I would have done way back in the day, or if these were released in the '00s, when new FSOL was scarce. Haha yeah I did exactly this with the ISDN ...

It's a no go for me - I get a '500 error', so something wrong with their server or web-hosts. Also thinking they might be fully moving to the bandcamp site - certainly requires less effort to put stuff on there and keep it all running

Re: A Space of Partial Illumination e7.002 out October 2022

Listened to this for the first time this week along with the alt version of Biosphere - Substrata (https://biosphere.bandcamp.com/album/substrata-alternative-versions). Had both queued up on my phone playlist and thought they'd got jumbled up when it reached the end bit of Temporarily Aliasing ... t...

Finally got round to hearing this one too this week, some great mixes on there. Love how the Inkipak Mix is as much a remix of st8818r Humanoid as it is Amorphous Androgynous - Swab

Re: Mind Maps 2 - 12th November on Touched

Mystery solved (I think) - It's a 'Tony F. Wilson' (aka. Spykidelic - https://www.discogs.com/artist/9521143-Spykidelic ) Top post on link: https://tonyfwilson.wordpress.com/tag/mark-van-hoen/ "Long and excellent interview with Neil Halstead by Mark Van Hoen [Locust] which includes mention of m...

Re: Mind Maps 2 - 12th November on Touched

That answer phone message from 'Tony Wilson' at 52:27 doesn't really sound like Tony Wilson (unless it's not *that* Tony Wilson) and when sped up by about 10% sounds more like Mr Richard D James. Tried to find any references to 'Locust electronic lounge live' online (I'm assuming the Locust mentione...

Re: Compilation tracks & Remixography

^^^ The very distinctive style of scratching and samples (and part of the name - an amalgam of 'Coldcut' and 'Solid Steel') sounds very late 80s Coldcut-y, so wonder if there's some mistake in the attribution ?? B[enedict] Ofoedu was the vocalist on Slam (Hip House version) though so definitely some...

Imagine it'd be Youtube's audio-copyright automated bots things that picked up the sources to the samples FSOL 'borrowed' (probably Meat Beat Manifesto - Radio Babylon)

Wasn't sure whether to put in here or t'otherwise but unreleased Gescom (Autechre's alter ego sometimes with other folks, sometimes without them) remix of Stakker Humanoid has just come to light last week. Absolutely - your profile status/name has become oddly prophetic :D

Ran the title through DallE mini and whilst it doesn't look like it was how the cover art was made, the results were flipping ace !

Maybe they're losing a decimal place for each release, so the final one will be e7.3 ;)

Yeah this second one definitely looks DALL·E-esque, the first looks 'hand done' (i.e. done in a 3d ray-tracing and/or ray-casting application)
