Re: What are you listening to?

GAS - Rausch

Didn't quite like 'Narkopop', seems to me somewhat pointless meandering, but this one is ace. Best GAS-release so far I would say.

Re: FSOL Wiki

Yeah, from Environments 4 up to My Kingdom Re-Imagined it was a pretty flawless flow of superb albums, peaking imo with Environments 6/6.5. Still their masterpieces of post Dead Cities releases I think. Not a weak second on there for me.

Re: My Kingdom re-imagined / Isness - Record Store Day relea

Royal mail arrived today. Came with a nice little limited print of the cover artwork. Funny thing is that the album seemed to be available in shops here for a few days already. When the A:E:V CD came out on fsoldigital it took several weeks before it was in stock here at the usual local music-shops....

Re: What are you listening to?

Yeah, the guy who made the Snivilisation and In Sides covers makes pretty awesome art, some kind of psychedelic, surrealistic still lives, totally love this: https://www.cityandguildsartschool.ac.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/7.-Selfish-Portrait.-35x30cms.-2016.-Oil-on-Canvas_JohnGreenwood-800x927.j...

Re: What are you listening to?

That new Orbital track is epic.

The artwork also seems to hint for a resurrection of the glorious 'Snivilisation'/'In Sides'-sound, so indeed high hopes for this! And this time please without any half baked 'Dubstep' or 'EDM' experiments :)

Re: My Kingdom re-imagined / Isness - Record Store Day relea

Strangely, i never doubted for a second, that the clipping drum sounds on Path 8 are intentional. Because when i first heard the digital version of Environments 3 i was sure, that the glitching sounds on the opening 'Viewed from...' track are a definite mastering error, because they sound exactly li...

Re: My Kingdom re-imagined / Isness - Record Store Day relea

After a few listens I very much prefer the Caine-vocals over the original now, it has that epic 'Everyone is doing...'-feel to it, and there are some cool reverb effects, like the echoing sounds on the original 'Everyone...'-track. I especially love the oldschool-sounding of some of the tracks. I wo...

Re: you fans need one of these

The "Club Collection" is definitely missing something, to make it flow perfectly. "Skinny Ribbed Fucker" maybe. Or "Nuru Device Send"?

Re: FSOL Wiki

Yeah, haven't heard 'by any other name' for ages. One listen every 2 years or so i think. :) but yeah, I remember finding it astonishingly good everytime I manage to dig this out. I once made a compilation album of the best of the 'alias-phase' tracks that we're on no CD, and named it "by any d...

Re: My Kingdom re-imagined / Isness - Record Store Day relea

Ok, on my third listen now, this is amazing. Turns out, the FSOL stuff which took me a few listens more to get into, appears as even their strongest stuff.

This thing is fucking brilliant. Incredible how they keep coming up with highest quality stuff all the time ☺

Re: My Kingdom re-imagined / Isness - Record Store Day relea

Ok, upon first listen I would say a clear mixture of the classic 97' sound and the sound of the last few FSOL-releases from Env6,6.5 and AEV and a few hints on 'The Cartel'-AA here and there sample-wise. Very electronic and experimental sounding. The whole album is mastered quite loud like it was al...

Re: New AA album - Facebook updates

Oh no. If the new AA-album was a video game i would say it got stuck in 'development hell'. Or maybe publishing issues? Hopefully not another AA-release to be disappearing into nirvana.

Re: What are you listening to?

A Perfect Circle - Eat The Elephant

Hauntingly beautiful new record. More electronic and ambient sounding than the first two albums with lots of piano. But as much as striking both emotionally and lyrical.

"Disillusioned" alone is such a masterpiece of a song.

Re: FSOL Wiki

"Teachings From the Electronic Brain film" My first encounter with FSOL, somewhere around 97/98 I think, late at night with a friend, both filled up with weed :) , watching this video on VHS. I remember being pretty much impressed. One or two days later I went and bought Dead Cities, my fi...
