Re: The Pod Room comes to Mixcloud

The MPB 8 on there seems to have some of it chopped off, not sure what exactly but it was about an hour and a half long and this is about an hour and a quarter. The recognised tracks like the Monkees one are out timewise from what you put below Ross so I can only assume something got chopped near th...

Re: Ramblings of a Madman - FSOL zine

Excellent. I still haven't got round to reading the first one, maybe I need to get it read before the next one comes out.

Re: My Kingdom re-imagined / Isness - Record Store Day relea

This all sounds pretty exciting, and lovely looking cover art too. The thing that surprises me about this is that although Gaz said in an interview a few years back that they'd redone the track Lifeforms again. I assumed that that never saw the light of day due to some sort of licensing black hole i...

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

I'll look forward to listening to it, I'm intrigued. By the way, anyone else here ordered just the music version and, well, received more than, er, expected?

Re: What are you listening to?

I stumbled across the re-emergence of Ozrics ambient offshoot Nodens Ictus before Christmas, which now seems to be just Ed Wynne and his son Silus Neptune. They did a short UK tour, which sadly came nowhere near to me, but now they've put a new album out The Cozmic Key. It's actually quite a pleasan...

Re: you fans need one of these

Lisa Gerrard attacked by wasps. I'm sure the bassline is actually out of tune as well which I imagine he had to go out of his way to achieve. That's a unique interpretation for sure...

Re: FSOLDigital Calendar

Looks like Brian's been out of bed earlyish today. "December gives us 'The Listening Room' by the Future Sound Of London.". Is that an out of focus Shauneen Ta doing the old Virgin logo?

Re: FSOL:Digitana The SX-One Live Improvisations

Wow, look away for five minutes and they drop another album and a bunch of videos. The samples sound very promising. Last time they dropped this much was 2007 I think wasn't it? Maybe they like years with a seven in it.

Re: Ramblings of a Madman - FSOL zine

Great EP, only listened to it once so far but it was lovely sounding. Also, I've just been handed a small but weighty package here at work; the actual fanzine itself. There's a lot in there, it's a very attractive glossy little package. I'll look forward to reading it. So there'll be ten of these? I...

Borg Acid (rebuilt by Humanoid)

I don't see it mentioned anywhere on the forum, but apologies if it's already come up. The latest Touched Music release is Karsten Pflum's Love Canticles, containing Borg Acid (rebuilt by Humanoid). https://touched.bandcamp.com/album/love-canticles I really should get all the various Humanoid stuff/...

Re: What are you listening to?

Fourteen days it's taken for the first two albums to appear. Seems to have been posted in the UK first class as well, so presumably they sent it yesterday. Good effort Pledgemusic (slow handclaps). Not expecting the book (and the third album) any time soon, they said it might take a month to post. S...

Re: What are you listening to?

I'll believe it when I see it, that book looks massive. I guess I won't be reading it on the bus to work. I'll look forward to about a thousand pages on how Chris Franke was only good for getting the tea and biscuits in the studio and was an all round cad and bounder.

Re: What are you listening to?

No fancy pants options, I just ordered the stuff from the Pledge Music site - had to double check my emails to be sure I actually ordered it and didn't just dream it. I should have gone through CDS, there's a whiff of dog blanket about their website but they are ruthlessly efficient about posting st...

Re: What are you listening to?

Just noticed you commented on the new TD album. Did they actually manage to deliver a physical release to you? This week was supposed to see a plethora of releases (albums, EPs, books, DVDs) marking the band's 50th anniversary. I've got precisely bugger all here. Tumbleweed. Nada. Zip. Didn't realis...
