Re: Electronic Brain Storms discussion

Funny thing, EBS 7 just now running while I'm checking the forum reading this topic here. Synchronicity!!! Really cannot say which one's my favourite, just love them all. And yeah, this is trip music at its best. It's just timeless, good stuff, no need to hook up on some stupid trends from the 'curr...

Re: Noel Gallagher/AA album thread

So another 'could have been' release from AA to be added on the ever growing list.(2012, wobbly oozescapes, etc.)

Re: Pandemonium reviews - Zeebox

Great to have the forum back. I already feared it might have ceased to exist, gone to meet its maker, etc.... Great also to read some proper reviews of the zeebox stuff at last.(don't actually know if ross did some on his site, will have a look immidiately) I must say that I still haven't gone into ...

Re: A question about Amorphous Androgynous live

Also don't know if he's still around, but the drummer was the son of the guitar player from UK prog legends Yes.
Brian was never part of their live performances as a band as far as I know.

Re: Kraftwerk

@Pandemonium: That list is quite - erm - voluminous. OK, so maybe lets say when what was Chicago/Detroit House in the 80ies came to Europe at the end around 1988/89 and became what was called Acid House/Manchester Rave in the UK, it was later merged with the more experimental approach of 70ies acts ...

Re: Kraftwerk

When I first heard the track 'Spacelab' from 'Man Machine' some years ago (someone putted it on without me knowing what it was, never actually heard the album before) I was sure to hear some contemporary electronic music. It still baffles me how fresh and new most of their stuff is sounding today st...

Re: The Orb - C Batter C

I still do not know what to make of 'The Dream'. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. Definitely to much vocals with to much cheap RnB/Dancehall-attitude going on. But the more instrumental stuff is quite good. I just noticed that I quite like 'Metallic Spheres'. When it came out I didn't like it...

Re: Environments 4 - clips now on Juno!

Haha, great, the golden age of shareware games, when even the now very ugly 'Duke Nukem' character was just a cute little 2d chap with bleepy background music. In fact I never heard this music cause I terribly failed to convince my father to install a 'Soundblaster' card on our first 'IBM PC'.

Re: What are you listening to?

Never heard about this guy, though he seems to be around for quite a while. The source material for the AA remixes is definitely a great track anyway. Will give this a listen.

Re: Environments 4 - clips now on Juno!

It's OK to prefer their older stuff over the 'from the archive' stuff and the environments series, but accusing them to 'milk their fans' is really stupid. In that sense every artist who releases new, ('unreleased') material and demands money for it, is 'milking' his/her fans.

Re: Environments 4 - clips now on Juno!

Interesting. Does this mean the tracks on Env4 originate from the time that kinetica exhibition thing was around? When was that again, 2006 or so?

Re: Yage's verses

Remember also "Breathe through lovers gills again" lyrics from "World is full of plankton". These phrases and lyrics seem to come mostly from the monstrous psychedelic mind of Mr. Cobain I would think, also in the 90ies.

Re: Environments 4 - clips now on Juno!

Listening again to E4 per headphones, watching another awesome sunset, smelling the fresh spring air after a little rain came down... My favourite environments album so far. And NOT just because it´s new. I really think there are no weak spots on it. (Okaaay, I too could imagine vast landscape to be...

Re: Environments 4 - clips now on Juno!

Yeah, it can also be heard on 'field of flowers'.
A lot of bird chirping is going on on that album, heh?
And on 'Wheel of life' that 'weird greek instrument' from the dead cities version of yage is back again.

Re: Environments 4 - clips now on Juno!

Just listening with headphones whilst watching an absolutely gorgeous sunset from my living room window. The album is pretty amazing, it has this quite, subtle quality that accompanied the last EBS-mixes and the newer tracks on E2 and E3. It's not mindblowing like you go "WOW" at first lis...
