Re: Electric Brainstorm 7

I was checking out the tracklist further and googled "broadcast of variants":

Also, any idea who is/are The Trees? Can't find any info on them.. very intriguing I must say.

Re: FSOL @ 20 - ISDN

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a123/purlieu/isdn3.jpg ISDN v3 was scrapped at the last minute when Gaz decided he wasn't yet truly in touch with his feminine side, and would have to wait another six years. My god.. I'm glad this didn't surface. ISDN is, of course, a MINDBLOWING album. Nothing sh...

Re: Gear talk...

I love how there's so much exotic gear coming out as a plugin.. stuff you'd never get hold of (and for cheap!).

I also used Reaper for mastering.. recently switched to Presonus One because it supports VST3's. I love the the rendering options in Reaper 'tho.

Gear talk...

I know a lot of people here make music, and I was wondering what kind of gear you use? Plugins, outboard etc.. I'm currently using (these are plugins of course) - Sonimus Satson (buss & channel) - EMI RS124 compressor (adds mad character and smashes drums) - Nebula: Tape 5042 (a Neve Portico 504...

Re: The official HERD thread - First Herd Interview

*bang*

OK, just bought it.. this is seriously very good and truly interesting ambient. There's so much dull and generic drone stuff out there. I can't really think of anything like this.

I hope you get more stuff out on commercial labels so you get more exposure.

Re: The official HERD thread - First Herd Interview

It's great stuff, I already previewed it on Soundcloud. Just seems more.. quality when it's on a "real" label now (FSOLDigital) :D
This will be actually the first digital purchase I've ever made.

I see you're also steadily growing your fanbase, so congrats for that.

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Lifeforms

I think that the Interstat high pitch sound is completely intentional.. haven't noticed the rest, except that there's a VERY loud synth sweep at the end of the first disc (was it?).. I always understood what was the point in that, but I think it's a BIT too loud. But hands down the most versatile, a...

Re: FSOL @ 20 - Lifeforms

Really the only thing I don't like about this album is that during some samples, there's a clearly audible background hum/noise/hiss. Don't know if the guys left it like that on purpose or not, but judging from the massive dynamic range and low volume details there are I'd say they did, because the...

Re: Electric Brainstorm 7

Listening to 2nd time around.. wow. These mixes are seriously getting better and better. This has some of the weird paranoia mood that EBS5 had, almost like an adventurous feeling.

Man, can't wait for Environments 4, no to mention the actual new FSOL album..

English would have been better. Otherwise, pretty good stuff. Very FSOLish. Psy-ambient in a more interesting (and less...

Re: What are you listening to?

Strung Valve Checkout from Dokument .01 is bloody lovely - probably one of my favourite tracks this year.... I've listened to all the albums probably twice.. kinda interesting, very abstract stuff. Some guy on What.cd recommended this :D Also found out about Continuum (Vidna Obmana & Bass Commu...

Re: What are you listening to?

lately been listening to: M83 - Hurry Up, We're Dreaming (Pop/Shoegaze) Purl - A Quiet Wakening Maps & Diagrams - Get Lost (both pretty generic ambient, but OK) Dadavistic Orchestra - whole catalog (OK ambient, once again, nothing mindblowing) A lot stuff from a certain industrial act called Pig...
