Does Pale Moon sample Crustation?

Post by SPW »

Hi everyone. I'm new here and a huge FSOL fan, usually listening to the New York 1994, Rome 1994 or some other transmissions when I'm doing an art project.

But enough about that.

I wanted to check if it's been noticed that Pale Moon

Seems very similar to Face The Waves

Also, as a side note, Secondthought had a page listing all FSOL material describing each tune. Where can I find this? It's very interesting to me.

Thanks

That's an intriguing link between the tracks - as far as I can tell, they're actually just very similar rather than sampled. As far as I know there's almost no post-1997 material on Archive 1-3 ('Long Shadows' the notable exception), which also makes it very unlikely.

As for the Second Thought site, I closed that domain something like five years ago - there frankly wasn't much interest outside of the news page, looking at the page hits. A version of the song-by-song page exists on The Wayback Machine, although I can't guarantee every link will work. Elsewhere, Pandemondium's megathread on this board picks up my knowledge and expands on it, so will probably be worth a peek too.

Yeah they do sound similar, the drum loop makes sure of that - but I think there's no actual connection between these tracks.
You're doin' too much, do less.
