Only ever released as a RealAudio stream on the old FSOL Astralwerks website, circa 1996.

Thx, Ross! by the way, according to the spectra in the release of 'WHE 2021', I counted about 5 tracks (from the 90s)

Where on earth did you pick that mix up from Ross?! Definitely never heard that back in the day (either that or I tried with my RealPlayer G2 player and gave up swiftly)

Ooh, do share! I know Detonation and Abandoned Housing Blocks are archived pieces, hadn't guessed any more were though.

It's been floating around since the FSOLLIST days, recorded from here.

Ross, my guess is the tracks,
Abandoned Housing Blocks of Prypiat (MPEG 93%), Detonation (MPEG 89%), Waiting your Return (MPEG 100%),
Exploding (MPEG 89%)... Vaporise (MPEG 90%), We Have Explosive 2021 (CDDA 92%), 5Cam (CDDA 99%)
judging by the spectra, it is possible that samples from the 90s were taken in some tracks, so there is a slice of mp3~128 kbps, 16 khz, programms 'Spek 0.8.2'(spectrogram, spek.cc) 'auCDtect Task Manager'(test)

re-listened to 'Promo 500' - good tracks 'Herd Killing' especially 'Live In New York' - would give a normal track name, just excellent, would fit well in WHE21

Whoa, that's some heavy "in yer face" stuff on there! But also suprisingly atmospheric.
Would agree, definitely the most 'IDM'-sounding FSOL release so far. Great stuff

this is brilliant
might be their best release since, funnily enough, the 1997 we have explosive!
its also pretty much confirming the idea that fsol is a Brian solo project these days. the idea that gaz went anywhere near this is laughable, i can imagine him listening and wincing at all the beats and stuff
not enough "soul"

I got a copy today, and I agree, WHE 2021 is excellent! I have been a huge fan of all the "update" releases starting with My Kingdom, and I think this one is the best so far! Can't wait to get the vinyl...

Did anyone get either of the 2 RSD releases today? Can you comment on sound/pressing quality?

I got a copy of WHE on vinyl and my pressing sounds pretty clean all round (should say i'm not an audiophile so can't get technical sorry!) and great fun to crank up loud. A very slight, quiet crackle towards end of side A for a few seconds on my copy, but it could be a bit of dust that cleans off. Not a deal breaker at all. I'll clean it and give it another spin to check. But yeah - really pleased with it. Didn't manage to get Accelerator.

Thanks for the comment on WHE.

I live in the US, but I found copies of both at a shop that got them in yesterday. They are set to ship to me today, so I should be able to comment on the quality of mine when they get here next week.

I got World is Full of Plankton and We Have Explosive on vinyl on Record Store Day. Both sound very good audio wise, and of course musically superb. I am really enjoying We Have Explosive. The 10” format for Plankton is a cool collectible (even if I guess it’s worse sound quality than a 12” would have been).

ps: my record shop (Intense Records in Chelmsford) had about five other copies of RSD We Have Explosive. It can be ordered for delivery on their website if you Google it. Not sure if it’s permissible to post a link.
