Humanoid invades De:tuned with a new and highly anticipated 7 song album of classic acid cuts. Flashback to the '88 acid-house spirit! Brian Dougans embarks on another journey of 303 breakbeat euphoria followed by fast, frantic and beat driven productions. The additional 10" completes the hallucinating trip with 2 floating acidic corkers.

Kevin Foakes (Openmind, DJ Food, Ninja Tune) created all the graphic work. Mastered by Matt Colton at Metropolis and pressed on 180 gr vinyl. A separate digital release will also be available at the usual digital shops. Stay tuned!

Sound-wise, a move away from the more complex IDM sounds of Built by Humanoid, mostly four-to-the-floor beats, squelchy 303 lines, atmospheric pads. Reminds me a little of some unreleased FSOL material like 'Eleven Hot Knives'.

Lots of Acid here. Sounds great and very Humanoid.

Woah yeah completely going back to 80s Humanoid - great to see the shifting around of styles for this returning alias!

De:tuned have just said on Facebook that it's been delayed to 30th July now.

Love vinyl releases these days, they add a wonderful sense of tension, guessing just how many weeks or months you'll have to wait after the initial release date before you actually get a copy.

First listen now, really solid so far. 'Pyramid 17' has what sounds like a Lifeforms sample in it, tying in with the regular returning of sounds over FSOLDigital. Hed-Set is a collab with Will White (unsurprisingly, given that's also the name of their production team).
And, weirdly, Gaz receives co-writing credits on the album.

Publishing dates it as 2020, so I'd imagine it was probably knocked back quite a bit by Covid and the general vinyl meltdown at the minute.

Far Point and Tower were released on compilations and Co-Pilot was on the Built by Humanoid bonus EP, that still leaves four unheard tracks though.



CDTOT 83, which is the next number up from WHE, so I would take that as confirmation that we're not getting Environment Seven this year...

Is this CD version going to appear on actual FSOLDigital? I see its sold out via Bandcamp. May be weirdly I'll get it from HMV like I did unexpectedly with Music for Three Books!
