On that video, the Indian Swing section starts around 50 minutes, particularly noticable at 50:26.

@Pete: Yes it is, it starts as the 7" mix aka the Video version, then it has a few live / unreleased / mixed bits, but the last 2-ish minutes are the Semtex Untitled Mix.

@Ross: so obvious when someone points it out to you :) - the percussios are there all the way, and some of the melody too.

I thought Groove was 1997? As far as I remember, the bootleg version cut out before the end of the show, so this is a nice find.

Gaz talking about meditation, diet, experiencing 'life' - obviously the early days of The Isness era, always find it fascinating how early this all started. And a reference to making the first MPB mix! Wonderful. And asking for demos for EBV, haha.

Yes seedy, it is a wild set and it does sound totally different, (too bad we can't get it in better quality)
because this is the breaking point where they start the AA project and the psychedelic funk / prog rock sessions and they almost forget about FSOL in the next 10-12 years.

Thanks for sharing NOIR,
after comparing the one you shared with the one from the pod-room, this is what I saw/heard:

- Groove Radio from the Pod-Room - 02:01:02 - the first two minutes intro by the radio host are missing, the interview at the end is missing, BUT it has about 12 minutes of tracks at the end that the NOIR version doesn't have,
this part:
1:49:18 The Exhibition - (from The Archives Vol.5, 2008)
1:54:10 Slider Environment - (from ISDN, 1994)
1:55:09 We Have Explosive (Oil Dub) - (from We Have Explosive Remixes, 1997)
2:01:03 Transmission ends
is missing from the NOIR version

- Groove Radio from NOIR share - 02:03:52 - it contains the host-intro and the interview at the end...

- Groove Radio from Disenchanted - 01:54:23 - this is the oldest bootleg, obviously missing some material...

So yeah, a combination of the two should cover everything, having the Pod Room version and cutting the interview at the end of the NOIR version for keeping...

Damn it seedy, you need to focus man :)
(stop watching american media for a while) :)

Fast re-cap of the thread:
- first post - Ross posted (via YouTube) a French transmission that is not available anywhere else at the moment - and the dude that uploaded it on YouTube - NOIR - started posting in the thread too. The Pod Room versions of Fun Radio France are from Nov.1996 and Feb.1997 - this one is from Jun.1997.
- after a while - dear old Rontxo aka Tito Lozano sent me even longer version of the Jun.1997 French transmission - so I compared the given versions and posted the conclusion here: ( http://www.ilovecubus.co.uk/fsolboard/v ... t=45#p6303 )

then, in the same thread we started a chat about an extended version of the Groove Radio LA transmission starting here:
( http://www.ilovecubus.co.uk/fsolboard/v ... t=60#p6310 )

and then again, comparing and conclusion about the different Groove Radio LA versions here:
( http://www.ilovecubus.co.uk/fsolboard/v ... t=60#p6320 )

French Live gig = not posted on Pod Room and contains exclusive tracks never played elsewhere (although I believe the rest of this set would have been the Essential Festival '97 show in Brighton had the ISDN connection not cut out).

The Groove show later on basically is an interesting interview with Gaz during the transition between the Dead Cities and '97 album/Isness era. The show is available in the Pod Room.

haha well.....we had a nice virus run through my house so this week has been pretty foggy for sure

my mistake was simply confusing "groove" radio with "fun" radio

amateur hour i know :P

thx for the clarification though...i'm ready for this work day to end so i can get on some mindless relaxation for the weekend
healing time!
