FSOL merch......

Post by seedy »

really though.....it's about time.

if the boys aren't going to give us some awesome shirts and whatnot to wear perhaps we should be taking matters into our own hands?

could easily find some awesome images online to print onto t shirts, longsleeves whatever

is this something we should pull together as a team here?
or do i just need to do this for myself??? :P

would this be considered a "no-no" ross?
i mean.....if fsol won't sell us a shirt......we aren't really stealing from them?
though i guess using their name or logo is kind of copyright something or other?

I have actually got an ISDN Show tour t-shirt that turned up on ebay last year. Not sure how legit it was but it seems good quality (i.e. fruit of the loom shirt that hasn't disintegrated, design that hasn't worn off).

Oh, look here, I'm really not sure how legit this one is:

you have a point seedy. really, why dont they make any? i know they are busy making music (give us the new album and we ll stop moaning, right? :) but it cant be that difficult for them, they could just come up with a few nice ideas for the t-shirts and just order them. they dont have to be sellouts about it, but that would be a great sign of appreciation towards the fans who have been madly in love with their music, secondly they can help themselves with this, there is nothing bad about being a little businessman about it. it makes sense, you promote yourself (is it sooo bad?), and give your fans a true pleasure of wearing something of yours, a piece of your soul, the Future Sound Of London...

FSOL never struck me as a t-shirts band, I think there was an official one from the 90s with the ISDN dates on the back and that weird circle thing on the front (I think - is this the one you have Dell?). Secondly I don't know how big the hardcore fanbases who'd buy one is these days. It's a nice idea though, can't say I have any problems with it myself, unless the band are planning some merch themselves for soon (in which case I'll get an email soon!)

The t-shirt I have has this on the front, though I think it just says ISDN at the bottom.

It has 3 dates on the back, New York Kitchen, Radio 1 Essential Mix London, and VPRO Netherlands.

It is difficult to know the size of their fanbase now isn't it? I suspect it's growing rather than contracting now though...

well i've surely thought about the size of the fanbase and perhaps that's part of the reason we don't see them selling anything

really.....i've no idea how widely known and appreciated this band is.
i know they have a legacy big enough to see them mentioned often in my world. but then again...this is my world which is a bit different than your average pink floyd or beatles fan whatever lol.

i would think at the very least they would have an offering or two though...purchase a small stock of a few sizes and see how they sell. but....it is what it is and perhaps we can take some matters into our own hands!

SO.....like i said....i'm pretty sure i'll be getting this done for myself (and the woman and son ;p).
Should we start brainstorming here and putting something together (unless ross receives a cease and desist order :o )?

i guess we just start with some graphics and designs etc. and from there talk about t shirt or long sleeve, sizes etc.
anyone please feel free to add your expertise as i don't know a ton.
i do know people that have made "lot tees" as they are called in the phish world so perhaps i can hit them up for the cheapest online vendors that still deliver a quality product.

nice image right there beetles.....with the artwork fsol have put out over the years buggy and whatnot i can imagine there are all kinds of really awesome designs that can be had here

......anyone have a solid folder of fsol/aa images?
if so perhaps we can put them into a megaupload or something so that we can all peruse?

ah.....stuff is good ;)

I'd love to see some FSOL posters..

The WHE artwork and videos are actually by a guy called Run Wrake, who's an artist and an animator.. he has made stuff for MTV, U2 and Howie B etc. (I love his stuff BTW).

http://www.runwrake.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

There's a 3-part series of original paintings of the WHE album art (now sold out, surprise surprise). I also remember seeing an videoclip of an exhibition by Buggy G. Riphead which had some large FSOL material. I wonder what's the pricetag on those?

I don't know about the T-shirts.. maybe something without text?
from the source flows the endless...

geez that's a big poster. I own two FSOL promo posters. Got mine both off ebay years ago. One is a Lifeforms poster based off this image - http://www.meridian.net.au/Music/Images ... 109-03.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. The other one is a kind of like Ross' ISDN poster except it's for We Have Explosive and has the magazine cut-out font... and it's smaller.

They're both tacky in my modern day, non-dorm room setting. Got my Lifeforms poster at work now though! :)

I generally dislike posters for that very fact - they're very studenty looking and I'm trying to escape that. I make exceptions for posters that are almost as big as me!
