From underworld

6mix for BBC 6 Music: The folk over at BBC 6 Music asked us to put together a mix of tracks from back in the day that were important to us, the scene, people around us and were and continue to be influences for us. Featuring tracks by Global Communications, Future Sound of London, Hardfloor and Planetary Assault Systems it’s an excellent way to groove away those winter chills. Unfortunately, the BBC “listen again” stream has expired – but we’ve posted the raw mix, without Karl’s intros and voice overs on mixcloud, listen here.

At work, so i haven't listened to this. Hope you enjoy it!

OMG they chose to mix a track that no one ever mixed before - it's Papua New Guinea... :)

Er...oh. And d'oh. Well what about.....FRIDGE MAGNETS!!

"We put together a little range of stuff for the Royal Festival Hall show - t–shirts, posters, art prints, tote bags and everyone’s favourite, fridge magnets – that seemed to go down very well with everyone so we’ve added those to the shop on underworldlive.com and you can check it all out here" http://underworldlive.spinshop.com/

The art prints are a new line for us and were particularly hot off the press at the Festival Hall show. They’re limited editions, so grab them while they’re there! This beautiful set of 3 A2 prints are designed by tomato, they say:

"The chance collision of two images found whilst documenting '90's memorabilia at the Underworld studios. The phrases are borrowed from lyrics featured on the dubnobass… LP.”

Over the past couple of months we’ve put a few things out there for you to enjoy. In case you missed them, here’s a few of the highlights:

Mini Documentary: We made a short film in two parts, of Rick and Karl looking back over the past 20 years of Underworld, dubnobass and beyond….. Part 1 & Part 2 /

Saved From the cutting room floor mix: This is a little mix that we put together in the studio of stuff from the dubnobass era that didn’t make the album or the reissue…but is a nice little romp through that time and contains some alternative views of tracks you’ll know well. Check it out here. "

Does any of this redeem me? I suppose not.

Haha, no it's all good - we were just giving Underworld a little ribbing for being quite so obvious with their track choice. Looking forward to hearing the mix (and the doc), so thanks for the links man :)

To be fair, it's stuff they were enjoying back in 1992 so it's quite a reasonable choice - for once!

Not to mention they follow it up with an early AA track, which isn't so obvious.
