Earth - Seven Angels
Earth 2 (1993)

Not sure how this year is going to be for music releases for me, there are a few things to look forward to. Recently I'm listening to a lot of my "would bring to desert island" LP's. This particular one can not be played loud enough. At least not without risking serious hearing damage or pissed off neighbours.

Steve Roach & Loren Nerell: Terraform (2006)
Loren Nerell: Slow Dream (2012)
Loren Nerell: Intangible (2011)

Fucking awesome. If you're into Stearns (i have all his stuff), you have to check these out. Just very organic, quality "traditional" ambient.

steve roach, well i've been raging him like nutz for a good year or two now
the only time i fall off a bit is with his super ambient stuff
like real droney super slow evolving beatless etc.
terraform is awesome....i've never listened to any solo nerell stuff so i will add these to my future listening ;)

I'm actually not that much into Roach, but it seems that he has really perfected the art over the years.. Terraform is way less new-agey than his earlier solo stuff IMO.

I started to listen to the Dream Catalogue discography today, something I've been meaning to do for a while. The amount of the releases they're pushing out in that genre (vaporwave) is fucking staggering and I'm not into the whole cassette thing so I'm a bit late for this.

There's some seriously awesome music on those crazy releases, big up Alex btw if you're reading this.

DC has a staggeringly good back catalogue. Shame you didn't get on it earlier, they were all free downloads until the label got hooked up to Spotify etc. (which required the albums to be for sale)

Actually it's good IMO, makes them some money and makes it easier to digest when you can't just download a pile of material for free and then it's just sits on your HDD. But that's just me :D

Massive Attack - Dead Editors (feat. Roots Manuva)
Ritual Spirit EP (2016)

So typical experience I get everytime Massive Attack releases something new, it goes something like this:

First listen: wtf is this!?
Second listen: hang on, this actually ain't so bad.
After that: superb!

Sometimes is finally growing on me - wasn't impressed at first, probably because of the amount of synths on there, really loses the sparseness of the early albums. But I rather like it now.
Really struggling with the new Suede though. A few nice choruses but it's really dense and quite samey I'm finding - a shame, because in theory it sounds like an incredible album and a fantastic step forward for them. Going to have to give it more time...

Now playing David Bowie - Scary Monsters

Finally got round to listening to this one. Wow, loved it. Maybe it's just first listen excitement but it sounded right up their with the FSOL greats :)

Everyone on the Born Dirty forums is raving about that one too. I'm really tempted but think I'm desperately trying to wait until the album - it's only got seven tracks and I want some surprises!
