Just saw Alex posting about this on Facebook so thought I'd share! Probably up Seedy's street...

Not actually an album, but a side-long extended psych-jam worthy of hearing...

^^^^ sooooo good. I remember when I first heard it back in '99 I think - walked into the record shop stoned off my arse and heard it blasting over the store - sounded like Black Sabbath downtuned all their guitars and played the same song for an hour. It struck a chord though, no pun intended. Back then the album was called Jerusalem (that's the copy I own on CD) - At some point in the past decade though it was either remastered or re-recorded completely and put out under the title "Dopesmoker". I still like my Jerusalem CD better, but either way, its a massive burner of a track/album. Still sporting my Sleep 'Marijuanaut' tshirt regularly. :)

Anthony Pappa - Global Underground: Nubreed 001 CD1, definitely my favorite 4/4 beat "album". Have had the CD since it was released and still loving it the same.

Guys, I uploaded the entire Manor Boyz record for shits and giggles (!) after realizing there wasn't but one track available. I blasted the internet with it claiming this was one of the more obscure pieces of Richard D. James' discography, but Pete is telling me it could possibly be a different Rich. I changed the description to reflect that its 'speculated', but regardless, this thing is a hoot. RDJ(?) and friend Philie-T rapping (horribly) about ninjas and scientists over Casio-esque beats, with Richard’s mum on one track as well. The sticker on the front lists these rave reviews:

"In the future all music will sound like this. Throw away all your old albums, you don't need them any more" - Cassetteboy

"Manor Boys whet my whistle." - Ceephax Acid Crew

"I couldn't really get into it." - Luke Vibert

Anyone have any concrete information on whether or not this is in fact RDJ? I found an old thread on WATMM discussing it, a most people say its AFX, a few claim its just a couple of boys from Essex. EDIT: Can't get the Youtube video to embed properly for some reason, so here's the link. I'll try back later:

starting a sweep through this thread now

just finished the deaf center album
kinda nice in a calm eno way but perhaps just a bit too "piano" elevator sounding for me

grey mirrors - this one i liked better. just chillax

secede - ok this one i like the best yet - has more "personality" than the other two imo
favorite part is easily the more upbeat middle section

36 - hollow
kinda sleepy to me =P

Wow. 'Calm', 'nice' and 'elevator' aren't words I've ever heard associated with Deaf Center.

Haha, had a feeling you'd go for the ones with the beats.
