(1989-06) Stakker - Eurotechno

VHS 1989

Personnel: Brian Dougans, Mark Maclean, Colin Scott.

Mark Maclean is better known as Buggy G. Riphead.

Stakker was a video project by Mark Maclean, Colin Scott and Marek Pytel, which released a number of videos in the 1980s and '90s (most famously Eurotechno, and Westworld, which featured music by Aphex Twin.) After meeting Brian in the Hacienda nightclub, they decided to work on an audio-visual project which became Eurotechno. Featuring high speed visuals set to a backdrop of short acid house snippets stitched together with electronic glitches and white noise. The video was one of the major inspirations behind the Rephlex label set up by Richard D. James (Aphex Twin) and Grant Wilson-Claridge, who, in 2003, released the music as an album.
