Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works II

It has been quite a while. Still inspiring.

Answer Code Request - Code (2014)

- can't be more techno than this - but it's not classical German (even though he's club DJ at Berlin’s notorious Berghain)
- this is a well thought album, with trippy beats and even some ambient sections.

--- --- ---

also,

deadmau5 – while (1<2) (2014)

- not quite sure yet, but this seems to be a good album (finally) :)

--- --- ---

also,

Joris Voorn – Nobody Knows (2014)

- first time I'm hearing this guy, and this is his third album it seems... techno/ambient - he's good actually :)
- is it possible a new wave of good (beat) electronic music is coming - or I'm just old and missed too much these last few years? :)
- probably not -- after listening more carefully, this will never get a third listen (from me) :)

One of my albums I've overplayed massively - but yes, the rare play of it still brings out the magic.

yeah i would say that new deadmau5 is a bit more "poetic" than past releases

surely a bit more on the softer side than normal

Got TD's Tyranny of Beauty ready to go but can't bring myself to listen to it again just yet.

Been listening again to the recent-ish FSOL/AA stuff, The Syd Arthur remix album and the Artworks music.

Now it's back to Touched Two. I got about 90 tracks in a while back and then discovered a weird thing. The tagging got all corrupted after about track 90, then on closer look all the files were corrupted after that - the whole lot thought they were the first track by (ghost) even though they had the right filenames. After a bit of a look into it and another attempt at downloading, it turned out WinZip on Windows 7 had thrown a hissy fit at having to unpack 12 GB of flac files and just given me about 150 copies of the first track. WinRAR was less ill tempered about it and now I can start listening to it again. I'll get to the end one day... Might even get to listen to the Humanoid and FSOL tracks.

Just listened to the Syd Arthur remix album for the first time. Absolutely wonderful stuff. Now, back to Doctor Who...

I finished listening to all 255 tracks on Touched 2 on boxing day! Not bad, only took me a month! I still need the Humanoid track, but I can't bring myself to re-download the whole thing!

It has good concept,
but its kinda boring and trying too much to fit in the new US dubstep/industrial wave...

Arcturus - Kinetic
The Sham Mirrors (2002)

Recently I saw that movie Interstellar, which I would highly recommend if you can take some important plot elements with a grain of salt, and it has a very decent OST.
But I just had to listen to this album again, considering the story somewhat reminds me of some of the lyrics on here. Garm may very well be my favorite vocalist ever.

I wouldn't call myself a fan, but I like them a lot and know their albums...
Why? :)

Quite a big fan here - particularly the first five albums. Been listening a lot lately, actually.
