Awesome, organic ambient. Best I've heard from either party. Especially Vol. 2 is great. If you're a fan of Rich, Stearns, Roach, Vidna Obmana etc. etc. you'll love these. Both are from '95.

Luke Howard - Two Places
Stunning new album out this week. His first was wonderful but this really expands the typical 'modern classical' sound out to some post-rock-style tracks, Tim Hecker-esque saturated drone, early 20th century piano + string sounds and lots of other stuff.

Umm, I guess you mean "underrated"? :D

listened

Shrine - Nihil
Shinkiro - The Cycle Of Rebirth

Dark ambient. Both were really good but not masterpieces. 4/5. Excellent reading music IMO.

next

Inade - The Axxiarm Plains
Amon - Foundation

More dark ambient. I had the Amon one before but lost it because of HDD crash.. it was OK IIRC.

Scarface - No Tears
The Diary (1994)

Anyone seen that movie Office Space? I can go on for hours about how that film has influenced my life in a positive way, one of the things being me (re)discovering my love for old skool gangsta rap.

Dead Can Dance - The Serpent's Egg

My least favourite '80s DCD but still a really beautiful record.

The Host of Seraphim is one of my favourite DCD tracks. I'd say for me "Within the realm...", "Serpents Egg" & "Aion" are on the same level of awesomness.

np Blood Ceremony - Lord of Misrule

70ies inspired, female fronted "occult rock"-band with Tull-flute & Hammond Organ. Just love it. Every song a hit. Strong pagan vibe, makes me wanna headbang in a circle of mushrooms under the mistletoe deep in the magician's woods :)

Generally I love everything from their '80s period. The self-titled album owes more of the experimental end of goth post-punk and The Serpent's Egg is possibly a bit too much of a 'bridge' album between eras, but overall, self-titled to Aion is a run of albums of the quality very few bands achieve. The '90s stuff is good, but would probably be less impressive out of context of the earlier material.

Yes, DCD are amazing. The Host Of Seraphim just... I don't really have words for how that song makes me feel.

I'm listening to Enviroments 4 currently. I'm trying again to appreciate it more. It's my least favourite of the Enviroments series.
