Ive noticed that during these last 2 months or so that Ive been working on my ambient/modern classical pieces, I only listen to "heavy" dirty music, somethings going on...

Re: What are you listening to?
Among heaps of other things, what I'm mostly listening to at the moment is Apollo 440, going through their entire discography.
My god.. they had all bases covered, very fun to listen through, allot of tracks I grew up with.
Oh, and just found out that there's an unreleased PWEI album from 1996, A Lick Of The Old Cassette Box, newly released a few months ago, continuing the badarse vibe of Dos Dedos.. not bad at all!

Apollo 440 were Monster of a band.
Definitely on my top10 list for 90s party music

You're doin' too much, do less.
Re: What are you listening to?
Used to love @440. Still got time for the first couple of records, silly at times but some good tunes there. And the Stealth Sonic Orchestra stuff at the end of Electro Glide in Blue is fantastic.
Re: What are you listening to?
I paulstretched "No Angel" by Birdy to last 10 hours and I'm 66,91% through it at the moment.
Re: What are you listening to?
I've been listening to the new PWEI like a mofo, they're a bit of a hit or miss, but when they get it right, they really get it right. "Two fingers my friends!" is probably my favorite from them. Great band in general, and the cover art is gorgeous.LooseLink wrote:Oh, and just found out that there's an unreleased PWEI album from 1996, A Lick Of The Old Cassette Box, newly released a few months ago, continuing the badarse vibe of Dos Dedos.. not bad at all!

Re: What are you listening to?
Back from a 2 week holiday, so time to get back into listening to an unhealthy amount of music again
I have that Touched compilation on random at the moment. I'll be listening to a lot of Ozric Tentacles too and have two new albums on the way this week (today, hopefully) from Mogwai and Against Me!
Almost time for me to move on to Environments 4 too

I got the new Mogwai album, so just listened to that.
Going to put Environments 4 on now
And just listened to this, which is quite interesting:

Re: What are you listening to?
I totally love this. The "Chips from the chocolate Fireball" compilation album is one of my alltime favourites. XTC were such a good band, esp. their later stuff like "Skylarking", "Nonesuch" or that incredible first "Apple Venus" album. I would even say some of their stuff ranks among the most beautiful and touching things musically and lyrically in british pop music since the beatles.Ross wrote:The Dukes of Stratosphear - Psonic Psunspot
@epitome: Mogwai, yeah, I listen a lot at the moment. Still have to hear their new one. Is it any good?
Magnificient Insignificance
Re: What are you listening to?
Sounded good to me. Probably not as good as the previous one (Hardcore) but that one might be my favourite.Dennis wrote:Ross wrote: @epitome: Mogwai, yeah, I listen a lot at the moment. Still have to hear their new one. Is it any good?
