I dont know if you have noticed Joaquin, but the whole fucking Europe is slowly but steadily descending into fascist regime, hidden behind the so-called democracy which is a total fraud, unfortunately this is true.

I don't know about fascism, but it sure as hell is globalization and corporatism. Unemployment rates are going through the roof and corporations abuse this by using "interns" that don't have to be payed (!) that are forced to work for social security by the government. This is going down at least in the UK and here in Finland. It's a new form of slavery while prices are going up. All the mainstream media is controlled by the same powers, doing nothing but lying and every small uprising is crushed by brutal force.

At the same time they're dropping the corp taxes, blaming the poor for the situation and demanding cuts to the social security, education and healthcare (some of this has already taken place).. all this while we're having one of the highest tax rates in the world (we also have some of the most expensive food and living in all Europe). The big corporations are avoiding the taxes and funneling all the possible funds to the chosen few. EVERYBODY I know agrees that we have the worst government in our history.

This shit needs to fucking stop. It's going all over Europe now. I never thought I'd see this day.

Pretty much what tryptych said. There's a terrifying anti-poor / anti-welfare agenda going on in the British media at the minute, headlines and TV programmes everywhere talking about 'benefit fraud', whilst the cost of our entire welfare state is eclipsed by the amount of money lost by corporate tax avoidance. All three of our 'main' political parties have shown themselves to be virtually identical on matters of economics; the only smaller party on the rise are UKIP, who want to offer councils the right to ban cyclists, and have no trouble with one of their members being outspoken about our recent storms being caused by the recent legalisation of gay marriage...
Coupled with having a conservative government who are currently trying to pull us out of the EU and scrap the human rights act in the UK... well, let's just say it's not a happy place to be unless you're in the top 1%.

Let's just say if Scotland gets independence in its referendum, I'll be the first to move up there.

What can I say... Here in Macedonia we're kinda used to it :)
It's safe to say its 10 times worse than EU countries - economics wise,

but LIFE is kinda different, it's generally not bad and people are getting through,
BUT that's all because of the old wealth from the socialism/communism days from 25 years ago,
(the eastern europe & russian socialism / communism doesn't look so bad looking back...)
(almost) everybody have a place to live thanks to them...
BUT our government is always pushing towards the EU,
like EU is some kind of paradise in their eyes...

But yeah, generally it's getting worse (little by little) every year...

This won't change soon... so either start thinking and take some action to make some money or ... ... organize to start some revolution...

There are a lot of flaws with the EU - but up-sides too. The only remotely decent laws our current government aren't trying to scrap (ones which protect individuals' rights regarding mobility, employment and so on) are ones enforced by the EU. Which is why they're trying to pull us out of it - to throw away as many rights as possible in the name of oppression and corporate greed.

One of the few good things about the UK is that, unlike some parts of America, it's not yet illegal to grow your own food. Being as self-sufficient as possible really is something people need to seriously consider if things keep going the way they are. My weekly food costs have pretty much doubled in the last five years. Fuck that.

Pande, I can only imagine and I'm really happy you're still doing well..

The EU is nothing but a big globalist scam to stomp down the workers rights and "redistribute" (read: rob) the national wealth. Since we joined the EU, the prices have skyrocketed, our previous "welfare society" (as they called it) is being run down and everything is now being privatized. The last depression in the 90's was caused by the same party that's in control now, they're nothing but neoliberal puppets for the banksters and they're the same people who're making sure that the prices will stay high and the current monopolies stay in business.

It's basically just global Reagan-type, robber baron economics. No new apartments for the ever increasing homeless, jobs are being outsourced, schools and hospitals being shut down, I could go on and on.. there has already been some minor riots by small hardcore anarchist groups (that just want social justice) who just recently promised that there will be more.

Man I'm so disappointed in all this.

Ah, it's the whole of America. It's illegal for somebody to grow over $1,000 dollars worth of their own food a year, other than for commercial purposes.

I used to be in favor of unified Europe, these last years I realize that this idea is too romantic. South Europe is dying, or dead already, the so called PIGS are in deep shit, middle class has disappeared into poverty, suicide rates are in red spot, ordinary people looking for food in the garbage, something that I never ever remember happening before 2008, market is dead and only for the rich (who were rich before too), nationalism all over Europe including Russia is reaching the levels of the pre-WW 2 Weimar, puppet-on-a-string governments who choose to obey and keep their mouth shut and at the same time descend their own people into slow suicide (at least in the PIGS side of Europe), governments not elected but practically placed by folks who are in charge of EU, who are at the same time highly supported in their own countries by people and voters sponsored by the media - boosted and supported by the idea that these countries are in shit because its their own fault and we have absolutely nothing to do with their misery.

I find it kind of funny when I hear people say, "Ah, we had such a great time when we went on our holidays to Spain, Greece and Italy, it was wonderful and so beautiful", I myself find the whole shit so misleading in summertime, the sun is shinning in the blue blue sky, the sea waters and the shores are heavenly beautiful, the ancient places and sites are so romantic, the food is fantastic, the nightlife is magic etc", while everything is rotten beneath. In Greece the south part Attica is surviving because of Athens, while the north part Macedonia is in decay - a dead place, a Dead Polis, that has a life of 3 months during the summer.

hmmmm interesting

i can't say i've ever heard of such a law being enforced though
it's probably aimed at people trying to run a commercial operation without all of the proper licenses/permits etc.

You know what it all comes down to?

Greed.

That's the reason behind all this. Media spraying out this discord, anxiety and other bullshit, getting people to blame each other while the real criminals are getting away with it all. In the end, I seriously think that this is part of the complete spiritual collapse (as I have stated here before) that's happening right now. The all-penetrating materialism that consumes and corrupts all.

I'd hate to go all theological and shit here..
