What are you listening to?
Re: What are you listening to?
Digital certainly provides the nearest thing to an accurate representation of recorded sound, indeed. Although interestingly, a lot of artists I listen to have spoken about how they make their music to be released on vinyl, so I suppose it's even a grey matter when it comes to that.
I'd love everything to be analog start to finish without any digital involved, and I quite enjoy the 'flaws' that vinyl and tape add to the music - I also enjoy the chunky tangibility of a tape and size of an LP. But all of these are in my head and nothing to with the actual music itself, much in the same way the cheapness, ease of access and potential music collection size count for other people.
np:
Gareth Jarvis, Jan Kleefstra, Romke Kleefstra - Tongerswel
I'm beginning to conclude that everything the Kleefstra brothers touch is magnificent. As long as you like really dark moody stuff.

The Notwist - Close to the Glass
Might be their best and most experimental album yet. Definitely one of my top albums this year so far.
