Stereo MC's - Connected (Future Sound of London Mix)

Post by Pandemonium »

So, this is one does officially exists too :)
only as a 12" promo French release:

Image

Label: Gee Street – 2324
Format: Vinyl, 12", Promo
Country: France
Released: 1992

Got a hold of a FLAC rip, so I had a good listen.

Sounds like a typical Yage mix, with nice environmental sounds and some typical Yage flutes.
All-in-all, a solid mix for their 1992 transition period :)

Always reminded me more of The Orb than FSOL, this one. Not sure if I'm allowed to say that.

Hi
I asked Brian Dougans about this remix fro Massive Attack in 2012. He replied:
"it has been released - in form - search around"

So, I guess we need to start searching :)

More info from http://massiveattack.ie/wiki/sly/

"Some music press magazines reported just before the single release of Sly in the UK, that a ‘Future Sound Of London’ remix would also be apart of the single package. Whether this was simply inaccurate reporting or if the remix was pulled at the last minute remains unknown as the remix did not appear on the single release. It has never been heard and no confirmation of it’s existence exists otherwise."

there and put on myspace, but Massive Attack catalog will not have any promo or something for this????

I'm sure I remember reading they were never happy with the remix and passed the deadline for its submission.
Also I thought when it appeared on MySpace it was labelled 'Wondering (FSOL Remix)'. Or am I imagining that?

Yes Ross,it was.Sadly i can´t rip the myspace sample(i remember only had few seconds of the track) and now i remember that the mix start on the "wondering" verse and had some low trip hop style, maybe so similar with underdog mix or something????...

Anyway will be interesting get complete mix for digital (or something) collection, if B&G the expelled this one day
