The impression I get sometimes is that it seems like an interviewer has just asked a stupid question. If anything he comes across as overly serious and confrontational which I think is a symptom of the sort of questions being asked and generally journalists' bafflement at the whole ISDN thing and the fact that they wouldn't tour the music in the conventional way. It's also a symptom of being young and taking yourself very seriously as well.

That's my opinion anyway. Most music journalists were probably only used to rock bands and pop bands and everything about FSOL was different and alien to them. They'd already had hits with Brian's Stakker Humanoid, FSOL's Papua New Guinea and a whole host of minor hits with their myriad aliases and they were determined to do something different, exactly the way they wanted to do.

surely has a degree of pompous self bloat but i think it mainly stems from the fact that he really really loves to hear himself talk :P

i don't find his intent to be offensive or anything.....he's just a bit in a different world than the rest of us heheh

Ha, this is great. Fair play, he does seem more self-aware and self-deprecating there than in other media appearances, possibly because he's stood in front of a room of drunk industry people who aren't so tolerant of his soliloquies.
