Hi everyone,
so this time Mind Maps 5 and Trip Maps 2 have an official tracklist, right? And so did Mind Maps (1) and Mind Maps 4, while Mind Maps 2, Mind Maps 3 and Trip Maps (1) do not have one. Is it correct?

Re: Mind Maps 5
Kind of. We only have a Mind Maps 1 tracklist because Martin announced the tracks on the Mixlr transmission when it was first played (originally to accompany the A Controlled Vista picture disc).
MM4, MM5 and TM2 are the only ones to come with a printed tracklist (and to be split into multiple tracks).

Hi all, I thought I was already a member from way back when (I had a password saved and everything!) but this is possibly my first post!sigESANg5 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 22, 2024 2:16 am Here's a download link with the Intro and Bonus Mix only recording, zipped and split into two files.

MM5 is so good! can't wait to get this in the post. Only thing missing this time was a t-shirt to go along with it.
Enjoy!
And yep, a bit ate to the party, but I tried to grab this link but it's expired, any chance of pointing me in the direction of where I can get/listen to the launch-listening party pre-mix?
Ta (obvs delete if scrounging isn't allowed )

(your account might've accidentally got purged a few months back - we were getting a whole load of spam bots so I cleared out any accounts that hadn't posted anything)

Ak ok, that makes sense. I can't remember when I first joined, or why I hadn't posted, it must have been around the time of the first Mind Maps release to try to get track listings.
Re: Mind Maps 5
Got my MM5 and TM2 copies in the mail. Great mixes!
MM5 - nice balance of tempos and transitions, great use of vocal samples, no answer machine messages (I think I heard the beep once lol). This is the best representation of the series and fits in better as a FSOL project and doesn't compete with others (like Environments). It brings Yage edits of lesser known artists, tracklisting, varied styles that flow, and cool samples.
TM2 - will take a little longer to digest since its very psychedelic. First impressions are that it blends well, nothing obnoxious that spoils the flow, vocal samples are interesting and suit the vibe. I am glad we get some of the rock style sound still, I lean toward the electronic but FSOL has always had a little blend. Much prefer the simpler sound of this mix than the complicated Amorphous outings, those have gotten very bloated.
MM5 is my favorite in the series and think it should definitely continue!!

Re: Mind Maps 5
The final track (Clouding of Consciousness) is just .... mmmm *chef's kiss* - It's kinda the entire We Have Explosive EP but condensed into one track and then marinated (or left to decay) for 20 years, before breaking out again for one final push at life
Re: Mind Maps 5
Have to say, this MM5 is deffo my favourite. Whilst the phone messages were interesting they did get a bit obtrusive (to my delicate lugholes!); this has a really nice flow to it and there are some belters of tracks on their too.
