New EP, Captures, out 5th November

Not had a full listen yet, but I notice the Juno press release states this is the first of two EPs leading up to the next album, which probably makes sense given that this is pre8EP A001.

Listened to it once so far today on my commute to work--an excellent little collection. Glad I decided to take the leap and buy the vinyl version. I figured it would be a one track from the album deal, given how the classic EPs worked back in the day...

surely i can't be the only one that goes in and "fixes" the .mp3 metadata on all the recent releases.

the title inconsistencies and grammatical choices really puts my OCD through the ringer.

Had my first full listen. I agree that it has a very Dead Cities sound and flow to it. I'll be interested to see if that carries through to the other E8 releases.

I really like the whole EP but the run of Leafy Suburbs / Being Human / Human Beings is amazing.

Brian said on Facebook that E8 will have an Album. What that entails in terms of length or number, not entirely sure. One of the tracks from Captures EP will be on the album. It looks like E8 will get at least one more EP too.

Can't confirm exactly what E8 will be, last I heard it was going to be more like 6 and 7 than the earlier volumes, but plans change quickly in the FSOL camp, so I suppose time will tell.

Yeah, it's wonderful to hear such a melodic run after a number of slightly more rhythm-forward releases in recent years, they're all gorgeous.

Took me a while to work out where the drums from 'Slow Moving Carcass' (what a wonderfully horrible title!) are from, they're also in 'Fracti'.

Fracti, oh nice! And yes, some pretty memorable song titles on this EP, especially Slow Moving Carcass

some nice tracks here, last two are pretty forgettable but the others are good. but i'm not hearing much new, still sounds like mostly the same sounds as environments 7. i dunno where things can go but i do miss the time when each record sounded really different to the last. it would be nice to be surprised again!
