Made a Halloween-themed playlist for the way to work this morning. I say Halloween-themed loosely - I didn't go for the typical cheesy Halloween songs, just songs that are quite dark and fit the mood. Here's my list:

Sun Dial - Storm Coming
Sun Dial - The Golden Temple
Sun Dial - Pumpkinhead
Scar The Martyr - Dark Ages
Slipknot - If Rain is What You Want
Sun Dial - Dead at Dawn

np:
Sleep - The Clarity

Stoner metal legends have released a new song after many years. Instant classic.

Journeyman - Mama6

It's been a long time since I listened to this album. Playing it loud and hearing so many things in the mix that I hadn't heard before. Very 90's ambient/dub

Man that takes me back, seem to remember Latneiro being one of the first things I ever got on Napster. Don't own that album but have the much darker National Hijinx which reminds me a little of Neotropic.

Going totally crazy for "VHS Head" these days. Surely the maddest shit in IDM I came across in quite a few time. This surely rocks everybodys' ass off, and I totally dig this trashy 80ies atmosphere. I would really like to know if it's true that this is completely sourced from old VHS tapes, if that's true, that would make it even more awesome.

Well, the new Floyd sounds like Floyd. I liked it, but honestly, to me, it has always been music for better times. I find it extremely difficult to listen to anything so soothing right now because I'm so pissed @ the current sociopolitical situation. Maybe when I get some peace of mind again I can really get into this.

It's time to fucking REVOLT!

i get the sense that yall are chillin for the most part? lol

ah man...i used to care about stuff like this
at this point though i just think life is too short.
and honestly my way of thinking is a dying breed for better or worse so i just feel outnumbered and isolated in the debate.
i just try to relatively go with the flow and stay off the radar as much as possible.....and really just focus on myself and family.

you can call it lazy etc and i'm ok with that.
i just have no room for the extra stress/negativity so i block it out of my thoughts as much as i can
stuff :P

I'll probably give the new Floyd a listen at some point... the samples they put on YouTube did really sound like telephone hold music though, really quite insipid.

I fall somewhere in between the two camps when it comes to political stuff... my political views are quite radical (which I rarely discuss as it always ends in argument); I am generally incredibly angry about the current state of the world and try and raise awareness of a lot of stuff. At the same time, I try not to let it become a massive part of my life because I don't have the emotional strength to actually deal with it - so although I enjoy music with 'relevant' lyrics and themes, a lot of the time I prefer music that exists outside of that. Something that reminds me that there is still beauty and wonder in the world, regardless of who's gobbling up all the money and shitting on the environment.

It's pretty damn hard to chill when the (RIGHT WING) government is privatizing everything, everybody's getting sacked, wellfare is being cut, people are forced to work for social security (not for real salary, but paid by the taxpayers from the taxfuns), being segregated etc. etc..

This shit is going down EVERYWHERE in Europe right now. If you're not born with a golden spoon in your mouth you're in the deep.. they're basically trying to create a class who would do work for free because they have no option.

This is not even politics. This is just social justice. MOST of the people I know are just trying to make the ends meet and the system is making it harder day by day.

The youth unemployment in many southern European countries is nearing 50%.. do you realize what that means?

And the BANKSTERS are getting richer every fucking single minute.
