FSOL's organic ambient masterpiece and major label debut, Lifeforms is probably their most all-round successful album, and certainly their most famous and acclaimed. With the 4/4 techno of earlier releases largely absent, and the more fractured rhythms low in the mix, the album is focused instead on melody, texture and mood. The album expands on the style introduced on Tales Of Ephidrina, furthering the use of field recordings and environments to mix the discs into seamless journies. The artwork again advances, with more photos and advanced computer graphics than before, directed by Buggy G. Riphead and FSOL. The cover features the first appearance of the "witch girl", Shaueen Ta, and the inner gatefold spread shows Shaueen and the first album appearance of the Electronic Brain "spike" creature, as modelled by Olaf Wendt.
Charts:
UK album charts: number 6.

Yeah, it's a pretty good read,
I got the feeling that he was describing it to be the soundtrack of Avatar - for the non-action scenes ofcourse
