Sorry, I've only just discovered this somehow - a longer version of the 1997 'French Live' show, which the bootleg normally cuts off during the track that basically became Theram and Chawawah many years later. That track exists here in full, which includes the opening guitar from a rather famous Kinks track, plus then some more unreleased/unheard material. And it also includes the same version of The Shining Path from the '97 Peel Session - I'd love for this mix to be released one day.

The Shining Path
Trying to Make Impermanent Things Permanent
Private Psyche and Inner Life
How to be a Genuine Fake
Popadom
We Have Explosive
Papua New Guinea
East Pacifica/Kaawaa
Unreleased track (became Theram & Chawawah)
Unreleased track (became Indian Swing)
Unreleased dancey thing - is this even FSOL?!

This post-Dead Cities era is really fascinating. It sounds so unlike any of their other eras, mixing the organic bits of Amorphous with the harshness of the Dead Cities sound. Brilliant stuff.

If you search on web is possible that you find; a fun radio complete file with cover, and listing as made in 13-06-97 not 17-05-97...

Last song,d´n´b´ with some indian swing bits in 1997 ,sure the isness was an album very vey thinking and reworking watched previous takes of songs here and on the first MPB,maybe now Alice in Ultraland have a alternate Drum and bass version????

What's the piece between "Private Psyche and Inner Life"
and "Popadom"??? (It's the track with the vocal sample) It wasn't on the Archive version of "Private Psyche and Inner Life" so I am assuming it's something else. Aside from the vocal sample it sounds very FSOL.

So awesome to finally hear the full track that later became The Ram & Chawawah

So that DnB piece totally has elements of Indian Swing in it.

I didn't hear Indian Swing in it, need to listen again.
Guessing the piece with vocals is How to be a Genuine Fake - must have missed that.

I Feel like parts of Tiny Space Birds are also in that The Ram / Chawawah track. It's kind of chalk full of future AA stuff.

this is confusing, it's obviously not this release:

http://www.secondthought.co.uk/fsol/170597.htm

so why the mistaken dates? did the guys do 2 shows in a row for France?

Fuck knows. I honestly can't make head nor tail of that show being played in the middle of their other proto-psychedelic shows. The Mixing It, Essential Festival and Peel shows we're all the same kind of material as this June one, the idea of them doing a Dead Cities set amidst that... baffling.

Finally got around to giving this a closer listen - not sure how I missed that Indian Swing section. Fascinating stuff.
