Ramblings of a Madman super-nerdy audio spottings

Given that the 'Ramblings of a Madman' chapters were written and uploaded a year before The Isness came out, and given that there were at least 20 mixes of The Isness, it's interesting to hear a few snippets from this era on them.
For example, that 1999 EP that appeared on last.fm a few years ago, had the track 'The Isness' named 'Low Tide on the Sea of Flesh' - and here we can hear what sounds like a mix of that and 'High Tide...', suggesting the two started out as one track.

This page has a bit from one of those unreleased tracks at the end of the French Live broadcast.

Otherwise unheard psychedelic loop

Early version of Tiny Space Birds

Love this, wonder what it is

Same

This is familiar but I can't think why - is it on an Archive?

This and this sound like Part-Sub-Merged.

Dear Brian and Gaz, please release this version of The Shining Path, it is insanely good

This thread brought to you by what happens when I can't sleep.

You need to head back into the directory to sort out chapter 3, mind.

The first is from Tif Feetal, the next is from Museum, and the last is from Brujo.

Well there we go. Next person to say I'm the biggest/most obsessive fan gets a slap, I can't even tell bloody FSOL from Part-Sub-Merged. Cheers!

I think that you and Pande ARE probably the most obsessive fans I've ever seen. Of anything. *hides*

I knew someone's gonna mention me here :)

I'd admit I am obsessive about music, but not about FSOL.
(that about sums it up, I can't explain in detail I'm late for work)

*finds Tryptych* *takes him to Ross for slapping*

I think it takes a certain type of personality to have the level of interest and eye for detail we do. Mine comes from having Asperger's, combined with getting into FSOL at such a young age. Probably why there are blind spots with the more recent stuff, i.e. archives.

Haha. No worries. It took me a good while to identify which tracks they were from. The only reason I knew they were FSOL and not Part-Sub-Merged is because I knew I'd heard them before and I've not really heard any Part-Sub-Merged. Haha. For all I know, they could also be in Part-Sub-Merged tracks. That being said, I don't know if you're the biggest fan, but you're certainly a bigger fan than I. Haha.

wow Gary's movie references date this to 1996, so it's been hiding on these servers for almost 20 years? Time flies...

It's the story of FSOL 1996-2001 (or at least some of it), so that might explain it. It went online with the first version of futuresoundoflondon.com in 2001.
