Would Gary ever guest vocal on another artist's track?

Post by ronniedobbs »

We all know Gary has a very unique voice when singing, some of us are fans of it, some not. So to pose the question, is he confident enough in it and enough of a fan of another musician to lend his voice? I think it would be cool to hear him collaborate with someone like Tame Impala, or even The Flaming Lips. He seems to gel better with rock tracks, but it would be cool to hear a mellow electronic vocal track as well, like Ulrich Schnauss. Suggestions?

Yeah, that's an interesting question, he definitely gets other people to sing whenever possible, so it seems that his focus isn't as a singer, but I'm quite fond of his voice, it's got a genuine honesty to it which I enjoy. Flaming Lips would be a good choice.

agreed, I would compare Gary's voice to people like Robert Smith, Bernard Sumner, or Wayne Coyne; singers known for the imperfections in their voice, not some pitch perfect songstress like Mariah Carey or some such nonsense.
