MPB DJ set in Finland - 18th July

Post by Ross »

From the Amorphous Facebook...

Looking forward to spinning some cosmic grooves with our sitar maestro Jonathan Mayer on the magic pumpkin in a couple of weeks time...haven't done one of these in a while, yes, a Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble DJ set in Finland with live sitar no less no more.

http://www.h2ofestival.fi
& seems timely to dig out this one at the Green Man ha ha

This comes ahead of some very exciting new MONSTROUS Psychedelic Bubble news forthcoming shortly..ah..a psychedelic tease eh?!

Quite what, I've no idea. This was posted on Facebook and Twitter:

Dell, you were a full two minutes behind Ross on this. What's the world coming to?

In my defense I was posting from my phone, in a field with barely any signal, whilst looking after my daughter!

Wonder what it is though? Volume four of the album series? Another Green man festival type thing?

Actually it was an ill tempered badger. My daughter pulled a wrestling manoeuvre on it while I was posting the message... She's got a vicious streak a mile wide...

There seems to be a real emphasis on the psychedelic at this event. To add to the previous list of acts vaguely associated with the band and MPB in general, Hawkwind are playing as well.

About that very exciting Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble news...

"delighted to see our Canterbury brothers SYD ARTHUR smashing it stateside supporting YES ( yes YES ! ) across 17 states and their album SOUND MIRRORS picking up plaudits.....but sit tight, strap yourselves in for A MONSTROUS PSYCHEDELIC BUBBLE remixes of these dudes forthcoming on MONSTROUS BUBBLE RECORDS - a year in the making - taking our remixes next level to the illogical conclusion- 6 tunes carefully chosen for maximum sonic dynamics
In the meantime go listen to the originals before we suck yer craniums out with the obligatory dimension shift"

8-) 8-) 8-)
Proceed with visual attack.

The random capitalisation singles it out as being written by Gaz as ever! Always expect the unexpected. So it looks like a remix album.

The Raven Bush violin fella from Syd Arthur played on The Cartel didn't he?

I'm sure this will be very interesting, not that familiar with their music but what I have heard sounds pretty good. Fits into the MPB mould quite well.

They're packing in the releases this year aren't they?

So it's just a DJ set? I really need to rethink this.. it's a ~200€ trip for me anyway (with all the extra expenses/transportation etc.) and no option for 1 day ticket only..

Damn, Neotropic too.. and that's on 17th.. I seriously have to figure something out.
from the source flows the endless...

Oh no, supporting Yes will presumably be a quite unthankful job these days. They just released their probably most bullshit album ever, and that means something when looking at all the bullshit albums they released in ca. the last 20 years or so.

Don't know about Syd Arthur, so AA are planning a remix record of their stuff? Or is that the long promised 'best of' remix album? That would be actually something...
