The impression I get sometimes is that it seems like an interviewer has just asked a stupid question. If anything he comes across as overly serious and confrontational which I think is a symptom of the sort of questions being asked and generally journalists' bafflement at the whole ISDN thing and the fact that they wouldn't tour the music in the conventional way. It's also a symptom of being young and taking yourself very seriously as well.
That's my opinion anyway. Most music journalists were probably only used to rock bands and pop bands and everything about FSOL was different and alien to them. They'd already had hits with Brian's Stakker Humanoid, FSOL's Papua New Guinea and a whole host of minor hits with their myriad aliases and they were determined to do something different, exactly the way they wanted to do.
