Re: Where's the love?
look at something that The Prodigy is doing now and compare that to FSOL :D Yeah, i used to like The Prodigy their older stuff. But even my mates that mainly just listen to mainstream pop & R & B like their newer material. if they're not in a book about electronic music - then the book suck...

Where's the love?
Why is it that FSOL don't always get the credit they deserve apart from us here on this message board? I've watched documentaries and read articles about pioneers of electronic music from the 90's yet no mention of FSOL yet they were talking about similar type acts like The Orb, Aphex Twin, Orbital ...

Speaking of UFOS, History (UK) are airing a new program starting Sunday called "Shaun Ryder on UFOS ".
With the amount of drugs this guy was on back in the day, nothing he saw would surprise me.

Re: What are you watching at the moment? (TV, DVD,whatever)
Ancient Aliens can be only summed with this age old meme: http://www.taimapedia.org/images/5/5d/Therefore_aliens.jpg Not doing anything positive for the already dubious field of UFOlogy :D :D I hear you, but i admire Giorgio's enthusiasm lol. He looks like a cross between a mad scientist and a used...

Re: What are you listening to?
What's the draw then? Why do so many musicians sign for the big labels if they aren't making money from their own music?Ross wrote:They'll almost certainly make more money. Take XTC, who released 12 albums on Virgin between 1978 and 1992. To date, they haven't seen a penny from them.

Re: What are you listening to?
Well, I guess that's what happens when you sign that contract. They now own the rights to your music and they can do pretty much as they please with it. I don't blame artists that choose to release music on their own independent label rather than deal with the big money companies. Even if it means t...

Re: What are you listening to?
should i feel bad for saying that? It is impossible to steal from the dead :) ok, technically it is possible, but they don't care... 99% of the time, the money from these kinds of compilations go to the companies, not to the dead people's families. Good point. So i guess it's actually the companies...

Ancient Aliens.
It's interesting, but i wonder if even they themselves believe some of the wacky theories that they come out with.

Re: What are you listening to?
I see where you're coming from, but i don't really agree with downloading for free. I feel like it's ripping off the artist. I mean if it's a single track and you can't get it anywhere else then i would but not a whole compilation. Besides, some of the musicians featured on there are dead, and i'd f...

Re: jean michel jarre
the haze - there is a bit of upbeat eno out there you just gotta sift through. i'm sure peeps here could easily name a few....i'm still a newbie so i don't recall which albums they were offhand. Yeah thanks for that. I was only originally interested in his ambient outings, but after listening to so...

Re: jean michel jarre
I've got 2 JMJ albums Oxygene and Equinox. I prefer Equinox but Oxygene is decent as well. As for Vangelis, I have the Blade Runner soundtrack (what person who listens to electronic music doesn't) which i like, and i have Heaven and Hell which i got for cheap somewhere. For me Heaven and Hell is hit...
