Re: Record Store Day 2024 - ISDN and From the Archives
I'm guessing that the decision to add new/different material, or else putting it together differently, is what is impacting the decision to remaster or not. With both Tales and ISDN, there have been changes made (Tales adding the additional material, ISDN putting the material together differently to...

Re: Record Store Day 2024 - ISDN and From the Archives
For vinyl collectors, the represses have been great money savers. I've been quite happy with the copies of Dead Cities, Lifeforms, Earthbeat, Accelerator, and Tales that have come out in recent years. Given that all of those have now been repressed, ISDN's the remaining missing piece.

Re: Record Store Day 2024 - ISDN and From the Archives
The 2CD definitely is of interest to me. I agree that this could become the go to. I was hoping we'd also at least get the Promo 500 stuff also spliced in, but oh well... On the LP version--I have an original 2LP white cover vinyl copy, and besides the fact that I sunk a pretty penny top get it, I'm...

Re: By Any Other Name 3LP reissue
I get the ordering has been changed to best fit the sides, but the "you stubborn bastard" spoken sample that links two tracks is cut in two for absolutely no reason, which is honestly kind of baffling. I'm guessing to keep the pattern of having a Yage track close all 4 sides of LPs 2 and ...

Re: By Any Other Name 3LP reissue
Got this from Juno today--came surprisingly fast considering I live in the US. The packaging is pretty basic--just the cover (not a gatefold) with the 3 discs tucked inside. LPs are housed in generic black paper sleeves. It does have the number stamped on the back cover. Vinyl is well pressed, flat,...

Re: Pulse Five out January 26th on Detuned
You don't save much buying the new tracks individually to add them to the Detuned version if you already bought it. Oh well, price of being a collector and completionist if you are trying to get everything digitally I guess. The added tracks are interesting, but definitely the bonus tracks to the ot...

Re: Record Store Day 2024 - ISDN and From the Archives
I had forgotten about this repressing, but ISDN did get a repress on colored vinyl (green) in 2006. Based on the picture posted on the Rough Trade site currently, I have to wonder if that version is the one being used as a model for this 2024 repressing (albeit as a legit version, not a boot like th...

Re: Record Store Day 2024 - ISDN and From the Archives
I'm guessing the 2 CD will have everything that came out on the white and black versions on CD, along with the Promo 500 tracks, and then perhaps some others?
I wonder if these will have the velcro flaps?

Re: Pulse Five out January 26th on Detuned
I've now also been able to hear all 8 tracks. I liked all of them--even the ones that were more "plain jane" early 1990s tracks (like Sun Risen or Big Lie). It's nice to have these, and they go well tracks on the other releases of material from this era.

Re: PNG Rebooted
It's now listed on the FSOL Bandcamp, suggesting it is legit as being FSOL sanctioned. The remixes sound kind of amateurish to me.

Re: Environment 7.003 out November 1st
Have listened to it through once so far--definitely ISDN feeling in places and also samples have returned!
There are some excellent moments on this!
Will have to listen to it a few times before I can really comment on how it compares/contrasts with the other two 7s

Re: Environment 7.003 out November 1st
Already corrected by Ross on facebook, it was first mentioned in the Lifeforms sleeve. Apparently it’s not the end of Environments, just of this trilogy. Ross reckons it’s still planned to be ten volumes, and wondered whether the subsequent ones would be trilogies too. Oh yes--that's right. I got I...
