Love the idea of a trilogy released over a period of time in the year, giving us something to get excited about. Environments 6 and 6.5 were released together and so it was always difficult to take in in one go.

Ross how certain are you the trilogy releases will be spread out?

They'll definitely be spread out, I don't think the second volume is even finalised yet.

To be honest, I'm more excited about this than any of the other recent releases, excellent as most of them have been. There's something about a 'proper' album that feels particularly special. Especially as this actually has its own title!

Environment 6 was kind of a trilogy also, with 6, 6.5 and Environmental.

Really looking forward to this :)

Just a heads up, 7.2 is finished, suggesting we'll be getting at least two of the three this year. If I had to guess, I'd say 7.1 in February or March, 7.2 in July or August, and 7.3 at the end of the year or early 2023. That is 100% a guess, mind you.

any more news? still looking forward to this, I liked the ritual tracks on that touched mix last year. hopefully they've got enough good material to spread over three albums, after six years you'd hope so lol!

No more news yet, I can't imagine it's too far off but nothing's available for pre-order anywhere yet, so I reckon it'll be March at the earliest.

E7.001 - I love the artwork here. Can't wait for the inevitable FSOLdigital edition with bonus tracks :)

The much acclaimed Environments series returns with an exclusive to Record Store Day vinyl edition of “RITUALS” the first in the Environment 7 trilogy - a 13 track album of new recordings by The Future Sound of London, engineered by Yage.
Delicate melodies collide with deeply fragmented electronics - surfing atop muted rhythms and beats. Unique and unplaced the FSOL are unrivalled in art-electronic.

Ok, so the naming has obviously been sporadic, but >e7.001?! Hah.

CD, digital and further vinyl copies will be available from FSOLDigital the week after RSD. No word on bonus tracks yet.

I mean, that art's pretty different, isn't it? Doesn't look remotely like any of their earlier covers. Even a new font. Very intriguing. The blurb and cover suggest that the album is actually just called Rituals, which happens to be part of the Environments series. So I suppose anyone still thinking that it can't be a new album without a proper standalone title, here it is.

I wonder how long until we get a tracklist.

CD and digital will have bonus tracks.

A boxset of all three is likely at the end.

A6. Solar Signals
B1. Sand to Ocean

'I Am Error' is fucking weird for a FSOL title.

Interesting titles, they seem very sci fi for the first time in ages which is a positive. Hoping it’s a nice varied atmospheric set! Glad there’s an expanded digital version too as I’m not sure I’ll make it to a shop on the day

CD & digital tracklist:
1. Hopiate
2. Triple Circles
3. Somewhere Outside
4. Ritualised
5. Time Cone
6. Solar Signal
7. Sand to Ocean
8. Far Seeker
9. Slowly Slipped Away
10. Visibility Accumulation
11. I Am Error
12. Colour Primary
13. Time Passed The Sun
14. Ebb Flow
15. Avoiding Mirrors
16. Clone A9
17. Only in Memories

Four bonus tracks!

And, apparently, track timings for the LP version:
Side 1
1 Hopiate (7:32)
2 Triple Circles (4:03)
3 Somewhere Outside (1:36)
4 Ritualised (4:51)
5 Time Cone (4:21)
6 Solar Signals (2:31)

Side 2
1 Sand To Ocean (3:22)
2 Far Seeker (3:36)
3 Slowly Slipped Away (2:07)
4 Visibility Accumulation (3:39)
5 I Am Error (3:18)
6 Colour Primary (1:24)
7 Time Passed The Sun (5:11)

47:31 for that version, would assume the CD version is somewhere around the hour mark.
