I've always said he's better,
TD were really good the first decade, but KS is really good for 5 decades and still going strong.

Predominance - Nocturnal Gates Of Incidence
His Divine Grace - Le Grand Secret
both dark ambient, the Predominance one is kinda classic IMO.
Now, Psych Bubble mix 6. Bangin' these out lately a lot, perfect summer music
EDIT: later, Triangular Ascension - The Chronos Anomaly. Absolutely kickass dark ambient album, I can't describe what it bring to mind, something like the movie Dark City and some soundtrack work from mr. Lustmord. The clock samples used creep me the f*ck out for some reason. Gonna have to wait 'till nighttime 'tho..
I certainly hope that he drops another one like this later on..

So you are into some dark ambient this time, never heard any of these but it sounds interesting. Are you a fan of "Raison d'ĂȘtre" tryptych?
Yesterday discovered a wonderful compilation album by the Relaxed Machinery Community, i liked it a lot, its warm and sentimental.

I'm more like a dark ambient fanatic, been listening to over 10 years now.. I collect releases from Malignant Records, Cold Spring, Loki Foundation, Cold Meat Industry (raison d'etres' label), Musica Maxima Magnetica, Cyclic Law, etc. etc.
There's a whole underground scene for dark ambient, usually overlaps stoner/doom/drone bands, ambient, old-school industrial, electronica and weird shit in general. Raison D'ĂȘtre has some OK stuff, but also a lot of "gothic" cheese which I'm not a fan of. The guy has some decent side projects 'tho.
My personal favorite albums of the genre are probably:
Yen Pox - Blood Music
Lustmord - The Place Where The Black Stars Hang
Predominance - Nocturnal Gates...
Inade - Audio Mythology One

I tend to like dark ambient when it crosses into modern classical/acoustic doom, like the stuff on Miasmah. Been listening to Man Asleep by Virlyn a lot lately, nice blend of melancholy and outright grim electro-acoustic ambience.
Actually yeah, but since it's a charity albums, I don't have the stomach to download it. Good lineup, but nothing I really consider dark ambient. I'm pretty conservative about the labels and the scene, since I've seen a lot of hipsters getting into the stuff and making totally sub-par drone without any understanding about the scene or the the genre. I wouldn't have even know the whole subculture existed unless this one strange guy on the net pointed me that way.
Don't get me wrong, it's good to break barriers and reinvent things, but I just don't want to see the scene to get overrun by cultural vampires and ruining it.
Thanks for the awesome scares and intense paranoia over the years, dark ambient

haha yep that's my dude
he calls power rangers "poash" or however you want to spell it
if you click the uploader name you'll see a whole bunch of videos of him
dude is just the best ever and a future music lover for sure.
he has no choice.....he went to a number of concerts in the womb even!
Thank God, a proper release from Luke Howard at last.
Essential listening for fans of melancholy piano/string music.
CD came today, beautiful artwork too. This will be played a lot this year I think.
Otherwise lately:
Dementia and Hope Trails - Pure Magical Love
Tangerine Dream - Rubycon, Le Parc
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Juju, Kiss in the Dreamhouse
And a lot of Brian Eno, as Lucy's getting into him. Trying to get her to play as much of the ambient stuff as poss as I never was much a fan of his songs, strangely.

The new Daft Punk album
RAM is pure old-skool funk! - they don't make 'em like this anymore
(OK, there are a few moments in a few tracks that aren't funk, but the whole concept is really really funky)
The production is 11/10, no surprise there, but the style, I don't think anyone expected this...
Really beautiful music, and I doubt the Daft Punk fans (at least the younger ones) will understand it, but it's OK, they'll get new ones
The last funk album that was this good... hmm... probably Travelling Without Moving by Jamiroquai, in 1996. And before that... I would have to open my 70s folder

Glad to see somebody likes it. Every comment I've read about it has been incredibly negative.

I haven't read a single review yet I knew they will all be bad - and wrong.
This will be timeless in the long run - something like The Big Lebowski
EDIT: dammit Ross, now I have to check some reviews, and here's a good one:
