yeah like i said i'm not aware of all of these acts
like at all
let's not forget i'm the guy who listened to snivilization for the first or 2nd time a few weeks ago
so i can only speak of RMI and even with that the exposure is limited thus far.
i would think if interviewed that they would be quite clear and realistic about what they do.
i just view them as a high quality extension of the original.
and all said i'm happy to see them keeping that spirit alive at this level of quality and respect
note to self - avoid the others =P

So much of the 'EM' (Electronic Music) scene is really anti dance/electronica/modern electronic stuff too - generally unless it uses analog gear and has proper 'performances', it's rubbish apparently. So I'm probably biased against the whole lot of 'em anyway.

Definitely not EDM! Just middle aged blokes wishing it were still the late '80s and people outside their tiny scene still enjoyed 20 minute synth solos and think £15 is a reasonable price for a home-burned CDr.
Artists like Redshift, Andy Pickford, Ian Boddy, Ron Boots, Rogue Element, Arc, Alpha Wave Movement, Phrozenlight, Air Sculpture, The Omega Syndicate, ARC, Create, REMY... ah, there are loads more.

I'll be honest, I don't have a clue what "EDM" is. Electronic Dance Music? Hasn't that been around since... well, Georgio Moroder?

yep that's it
we had good ole IDM and someone decided to steal that at one point and use EDM for all the brostep trap electro whatever going on here
it's exploded all over the usa which to me has positives and negatives
we've been lagging behind in electronic music compared to the rest of the world for so long but as you would know this music is typically garbage too so there's that

I always find it odd how little dance music comes out of the US, given that house, techno and garage all originated there.
I'm completely out of touch with recent dance stuff, though.

1982 - A/B
Absolutely gorgeous free improv stuff from Norway. Brass, wind, violin, percussion... really expressive.

Yeah, EDM, "electronic dance music", you know, electronic music with beats, crazy sounds and stuff, that you can actually dance to, the most innovative thing that came upon us the last few years, Skrillex invented it, he´s such a genius !!!
No, honestly, I somewhere read what some kid from the US (sorry seedy, I know, there´s also smart people over there, who like FSOL for example...

) said about what his definition of 'dubstep' is: 'Yeah, It´s like this very hard mixture between rock and dance!'
I mean not everyone needs to be a musical nerd with knowledge of every musical genre there ever was, but this made me facepalm very hard though...

The Prodigy - Wind It Up
Experience (1992)
Perfect tune/album for enjoying a lazy Friday afternoon off with this beautiful weather we have here right now, in the backyard with some good company (musically like-minded, sort of) and lots of beer. Next up: Accelerator!

^^ Why can't I have your afternoon?!
I'm sat in a boring, stuffy office, rain blowing against the window... although I am at least listening to the Suburban Domestic EP at the moment.

In a similar vein to Experience and Accelerator, I've been blasting out Analogue Bubblebath 3, Classics and Caustic Window this evening.
