Will do ;)

Got Orbus Terrarum on again right now actually.

After that, I've got a load of work to do around the house and I'm going to put a mix of Everclear, Stroke 9, Eve 6 and The Vandals on whilst I do it :)

Yeah, I was also creeped out by the King Crimson information... Robert Fripp...

I don't what's happening with my brain regarding music lately... I'm working on MPB4 tracklist and... 9 times out of 10 I guess the band (and probably the album and decade too) on just three or four tries... And I'm like... how do I know this? I've listened to that album just once 10 years ago... It's like I'm calibrated at 99% all the time :)

Avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid avoid. Lots of miming and '80s new age synth presets.

In case you need more reason

Currently on the radio. Now this is good pop music :) *whistles along*

I don't post what I'm listening to very often, but I figured this would be worth a mention - seriously one of the most incredible albums I've come across this year - or any year. Bataille Solaire's "Documentaires", released on cassette last year - I came across it by chance, noticed the rather vibrant cover artwork, and my mind was absolutely blown when I started listening. Not many albums have made me grin ear to ear all the way through, but this was one. If you're into that new-agey/sci-fi/arpeggiator/synth music style, this will NOT disappoint. :!: Here's the Bandcamp link: http://bataillesolaire.bandcamp.com/album/documentaires

ok ross thanks again :-/
i listened to the whole dang thing
surely a couple sweet parts but as a whole kinda snoozer 80s new age idk.
those chicks are a big culprit. they just bring cheese to the table.
there just shouldn't be violin jams in TG music......this is just over the limit

ok....now i'm going to listen to nmesh's link

AND start a new thread now that i'm inspired to :)

Linda Spa's been playing sax with them since 1990. In general though yeah, they really haven't moved on from the 80s with their synth patches, lots of really awful general MIDI-sounding new age bell synths and stuff, with added 'modern' (i.e. ten years out of date) beats. I prefer to think that nothing after Underwater Sunlight exists - and even that's the only one after Hyperborea I can actually listen to. Edgar stopped being an interesting musician a very long time ago, sadly.

np ELO - 10538 Overture (FSOL Cosmic Jukebox Remix)
Or at least the 1.31 we have of it. I truly hope this comes out someday in its original 2000 / 2001 form. Memories of being SO excited about the return of FSOL and their new psychedelic sound... the way the ride / snare beat comes in at 35 seconds is brilliant. So much punch to it.

Pentamerous Metamorphosis is excellent. Technically a remix album of Chapterhouse's second record, but you wouldn't know if from listening. Their album A Collection of Short Stories under the name Reload is also excellent, although a bit harsher sounding in places.
