In 1986 iconic group The Future Sound of London released the UK Top 40 chart album "Dead Cities", from which came a track "Yage". Such has been the interest in this masterpiece of electronica over the years that the guys have been back into the studio to revisit it. Here, on this limited edition, individually numbered LP press exclusively for 2019' s Record Store Day comes the results. "Yage 2019" takes the core of the original and rebuilds it. All together there are eleven tracks reconstructions and interpretations, woven together (as FSOL do) into a 42 minute dreamscape journey across the 2 sides of vinyl. Only 1000 copies of this release will be pressed on vinyl.

I'd imagine the Rhodesia/Insulin version is probably the same as the Beijing mix. Great to finally see a release of Sunset Strip. And excited about a Humanoid remix!
As ever, if it's mixed to play through gapless, I can't fathom paying more for a version with a gap in it (not to mention the bonus tracks). But the art would be rather nice to hold.
I'm guessing Ayahuasca will be Hallucination, as it appeared under that title on EBS0.5
Nice. Although I never was too keen on those Yage reinterpretations like the hallucinations versions or ayahuasca from FTA 1 or EBS. The original track from Dead Cities is among my favourite FSOL tracks, but those remixes always seemed a bit inferior compared to the otherwordly bliss of the original album track. But i'm very curious how it will work as a cohesive album. I guess there will be a lot of newer recorded, or improved old stuff on there.
I think this will be our first proper taste of material recorded after the extended E6/E6.5/Environmental/My Kingdom sessions, so it'll be interesting to hear how much stylistic development there is in the new material.
Excellent news, I've been wondering about whether something like this would happen. It makes sense considering how many versions of Yage there are. Really looking forward to hearing this!
