What are you listening to?
Re: What are you listening to?
Nodens Ictus - Live at Club Dog 1989
This is much better than the officially released Spacelines which was a bit too like new age background music for me.
The final track, the lengthy "They All Come Out Of The Sky You Know" has a very "My Kingdom" feel especially towards the end.
There's the same sounds as on Ozrics' own Phalarn Dawn but at 11 minutes in more sounds that are very similar to My Kingdom 2:35 in. I don't think there's any sampling going on because the FSOL version of it sounds more synthetically produced. I just wonder if Brian/Gaz had heard this. I have no idea if these recordings were distributed in any way (unofficially or offically) at the time of recording (1989), as I think it's only been available in recent years on the ozrics website.
Could be just a coincidence of course or my fevered imagination, but the song takes on a similar feel to it briefly.

Mark Hollis - Mark Hollis
Some of the most beautifully intimate music ever recorded.

I have Spacelines, but I haven't listened to it. I might have to check out that live recording - and I notice they have a few other live recordings available too.dell1972 wrote:Nodens Ictus - Live at Club Dog 1989

Re: What are you listening to?
Nodens Ictus - Spacelines, I think there is nothing new age about it, has been in my personal top 5 ambient albums of all time, maybe even top 3, masterpiece. By the way, there are more live recordings of Nodens on ozrics official website.

one of the few Biosphere tunes I fully enjoy: Genkai-1
it seems like this album would be the one that appeals to me the most
idk....they come off as too ambient/minimal whatever for me most of the time

Ha, can definitively say you're not a Biosphere fan if N-Plants is the one that appeals to you the most.

Re: What are you listening to?
lol yes ross that's how i see it....i've listened to a good amount of biosphere as i've done some youtubes and have them included in my pandora. really everything else i hear leaves no impression on me at all. well it's not for a lack of trying and it's always been based on your praise
pande....that name always is weird to me because i listen to a side band of phish called Vida BLUE and one of their songs is "Electra Glide"
i would have to think there is a reference being made here with BLUE in the name and this song title. the fact that it is ElectrA i would assume has to do with the record label the album is on

I listened to a bit of their stuff - after getting into Frank Turner's solo stuff - but wasn't too impressed. I listen to a lot of punk, and it sounded ok, but nothing special.Ross wrote:Do you like Million Dead?epitome wrote:Frank Turner - Love Ire & Song

Woah, that's wild ! Got to get round to sorting the Soundcloud player - they must've updated something to make the previous embedding hack not work....
