There's quite a few people attempting to pimp their wares as leaked Syro tracks. I don't get the psychology behind it, there's more than a whiff of dog blanket about trying to scam people like that.

Another guy posted a track with this comment (does he think everyone's going to go, oh but the music's so great I must buy your music anyway, even though you just tried to deceive me):

I found just this one track somewhere on my hard drive by itself after visiting the link to the listings and then later i saw this; someone had changed the title to that you see above. Is it AFX???

But is that true? Could it already be a leak from the new album SYRO soon to be released on Warp Records?

Ok, but it's actually quite good. Would have swallowed it without hesitation as a serious new AFX or Squarepusher release. Don't get it too why someone would make promotion for his stuff by starting such a stupid fake show. Makes it all somewhat unappealing...

As someone who did it a couple of times waaaaaayyyy back in the Napster days (hey, I was a naive teenager, and an idiot!) - the thought process was: 'Hey I'm unknown, would love people to hear stuff of mine - so how can I raise the profile with very little effort and hopefully soak up the praises'. Doesn't work though, makes you look so stupid when people find out
